Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is great and it is updated regularly every year. It is also quite relevant to industry standards. The choice of ECE was mainly affected by news articles that this sector will boom in the upcoming years. The teaching methods are great but the class strength is high. There are 4 exams in a year, two midsems and two endsems along with internal grading in both the semesters. Exams are of moderate level and you can score good if you have prepared well.

Internships Opportunities

4

You can do internships in college from second year itself. There are many companies like Uber which give pre placement offers just after your internship if you've performed good. You've to be very hardworking if you are willing to do internships. Most of the internships are paid and they are highly paid as well. Some companies give stipend upto 50,000 as well, so there's a chance to get high paying internships. You've to be good in communication skills and you should have made a nice project for grabbing internships, projects can be based on WebDev, DSA, Software Development, Data Science etc.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of the college is good. Students are eligible for placements after 7th Sem and Internships are done mostly after 3rd year. You've to maintain good CGPA to be eligible to sit in every company. Some top companies which visit our college are Apple, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Zomato etc. The highest domestic packages reach up to 60 LPA and the average package in ECE Branch is 17 LPA. Most of the packages are from Tech Companies and around 70 percent of the total students get placed. This number reaches upto 80 percent in ECE Branch. My plans are also basically the same to get placed in a Tech Company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The first year fees of B.Tech Degree is 2,40,000 rupees and it increases by 10-15 thousand yearly. There are no other fees/charges except for the hostel. Registration fees in the first year is 95,000 rupees and it is included in the total fees i.e. 2,40,000. Apart from the registration fees, you've to pay 1,95,000.

Campus Life

4

So there are total of three fests in our college. The first one is Resonanz which happens in October. It's a intra college cultural fest where artists like Dream Note had performed. The second fest is Moksha, which happens in March. It's the main cultural fest and it's one of the best in Delhi. Artists like Sunidhi Chauhan, Raftaar, King have previously performed. The third fest is Innovision - (Tech Fest of NSUT) and from the past few years, it has merged with Moksha and happens at the same time. There is a crazy environment in our college during fests as I've heard from my seniors. Talking about the library, all the books which are required are easily available and there is digital library also. Also there is newly constructed lecture hall (APJ Complex) having state of the art infrastructure and it is fully air conditioned. Sports facilities and extracurricular activities are also available. There is provision for most of the sports, excluding swimming and squash. Also there are more than dozens of society and you can showcase your talent in these societies. Some of the famous societies are DebSoc - Debating Society, Junoon - Photography Society.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is good, but the Mess Food should be considered average like in other government institutions. In the room, you should be provided with table, bed, almirah, fan and chair. Rest other things including cooler, bucket etc. you have to bring by yourselves. Menu of the mess is good and in a day, meals are served four times - Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner. But as I've said, the meal quality is average. The registration process of the hostel is quite simple, you've to just fill the hostel form and submit it in the hostel office. After all the details are verified, rooms are allotted based on your distance from the home, also you can't choose between single and double room, it's based on your luck what will you get. But mostly there are single rooms, so most probably you'll get a single room, but make sure that your house is beyond 35-40 km from the college, otherwise it's difficult to get accomodation.

Admission

I've choosed NSUT ECE over NIT Jalandhar ICE(Instrumentation and Control Engineering) mainly because of two reasons -- first one is location and second reason is placements record. NSUT has a good placement record and average package of ECE Branch in the previous year was around 17 LPA, so that's the main reason for choosing NSUT. The admission process is through JEE Mains exam for B.Tech degree. The admission process is through JAC Counseling and cutoff varies every year. As it is a government college, you've to bring above 95 %ile in JEE Mains to take admission if you are from General Category.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculty members are good and highly educated. The have done their higher studies from great colleges. The faculty to student ratio is very average, but you can approach most of the faculty as their phone number is available for the students. You can ping them on WhatsApp during working hours. Some faculties of ECE department are quite strict, so you have to bear with them, otherwise it's fine. For exam point of view, there are 4 exams in each year, consisting of two mid semester and two end semester examinations. The exams are moderate and only a handful students fail the curriculum. The course curriculum is also relevant to current standards.

Night Life

5

The night life in our college is especially great for hostellers. There are various facilities like Student Centre (Canteen/Cafe), Library, Gym, Athletics Track, Sports fields. Gym and Library closes around 6 pm but you can visit other places till 9-10 pm. Also there are 4 hostels, the first year hostel entry time closes around 10 pm and for seniors it's upto midnight. Famous hangout places in college include Amul Gardens, Nescii Lawn, Student Activity Centre etc. There are also many places to hangout outside the college like Vegas Mall. It's safe until to roam around outside till 10-11 pm but after that, you should be careful.

Other Applied Colleges

Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology - [NIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Instrumentation & Control Engineering)

I've not opted for this college due to low placement opportunities and location.

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
