- The faculties are well trained and experienced and have a very strong research and professional background
- Despite being diverse in context of the countries, we can see unity and 0 discrimination over countries.
Dislikes
- The college lacked in terms of sports facilities. Sports grounds are still under construction.
Course Curriculum Overview
The university doesn't beat around the bush while deciding the courses. They have picked only the subjects and the curriculum that are suitable for our field and focus on making us future-ready. Some subjects might seem a little fast-paced, but if you are consistent enough, you won't face any problems. It is safe to say that the exams and things taught in most the subjects are same to that of its so there is no lacking behind in that aspect.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had to pay less than 2 lakh per year, and the same will be applied for the upcoming years. However, from this year, the newcomers will have to pay an increased amount of about 2.75 lakhs per year. There is no category-wise benefit. Scholarships are merit-based and need-based. These scholarships are announced by the end of the first semester. Since it is an international institute, the topper from each country is provided with a scholarship and a monthly stipend. Economically weaker students are provided with scholarships and if they had scored a good cgpa, they are awarded with monthly stipend of approx 5k.
Campus Life
The main cultural fest takes place in the month of Feb.. Apart from this, we have smaller fests like Biozest, Falun Utsav, etc, taking place throughout the year. The main sports fest, khel Kumbh, takes place once a year but other smaller sports events like saupl etc occur in between The library is open for the issuing of books from 10 am to 6 pm from Monday to Friday. You can issue max 2 books at a time. Most of those books can be reissued online (from the library website). Some of the clubs are- photography club, cstc (tech club), ftt (feminist tea talks), cultural club (includes cultural events, book clubs and movies show+review), etc
Hostel Facilities
The rooms have 2 students per room. Some rooms have attached washrooms and balconies, some just have the balcony, and some have neither. It's a flat accommodation, so one can always use the common washrooms and balconies of the flat. hostel registration takes place semester-wise. it was 5k per sem till last year. it is now 10k per sem (for newcomers). The mess is student-run; The menu is updated monthly (after a monthly open meeting). Tea-milk-banana-egg-cornflakes are always available for breakfast, apart from the main course. the mess fee ranges from 3100 (veg) to 3400(non veg).
Admission
Admission Process: 1. Direct Mode- it is through jee and other similar level exams conducted by different countries 2. Entrance mode- The university conducts its very own entrance exam on the basis of these two, you can apply (you can also apply for both). After this merit lists are produced. If you decide to take admission, you need to pay the fee during the given time frame. After the fee payment date ends, as per the left sets, the next merit list is produced. All the 8 SAARC countries have equal number of seats. However, the seats left vacant from one country can be given to the others. Mostly, they get included in India. My personal reasons for choosing this college over the others were:- 1. Location 2. Fee structure 3. Faculty 4. Amazing hostels 5. It being a government institution
Faculty
The marking scheme generally is as follows:- 20 midsem 40 endsem 20 practical/project 10 quiz1 10 quiz 2 however, if the faculty wishes, they might alter this. The faculty members are handpicked set of researchers and professors from around the globe. A lot of them have completed their education from its nits and international institutions. Some of them even belong to other south asian countries. A lot of them stays within the campus and are approachable for a longer period of time, The rest are available till a few hrs after the class ends and obviously on phones, and emails.
Night Life
There is no HOSTEL TIMING. However, you need to be inside the campus by 8 pm. Academic block stays open. You can stay in the reading room or classroom (with permission). Library is closed during the night. Gym and swimming pool have allocated timing. Main canteen is closed at night however you have a side store which runs till later hours and you can always order stuffs from outside. And it is absolutely safe to stay out in the campus at late hours.
