What Students Say
Likes
- The college is a green lush campus in Dwarka, you may find peacocks anytime in the campus which makes it look beautiful.
- The seniors are really helpful in everything , all the resources are available. Also it has a great coding culture, even teachers might ask you like if you need any help related to AI ML, some may even provide you with the contents they followed.
- The classrooms are well air conditioned( especially for the first year), there is a separate complex for them. Also for the higher years, all the departments have been now upgraded with good air conditioning, smart boards.
Dislikes
- The attendance criteria is but of a headache. Some teachers are really chill about it but some are like if you even enter the class 5 minutes late, you are marked absent. Well it totally depends upon the mood but yes 75% is a bit of a headache
- The hostels for boys are not air conditioned , might look difficult for some people so take this into your consideration. Plus point is that boys hostel have separate rooms also for individual while girls hostel are triple or quadruple sharing withAC
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum in terms of relevance is partially upto the mark. But the things that are taught are, I believe are really necessary for the students to learn. In the first year, all the departments will be learning the same things only, the only difference will be the timings of learning , the subject code and the difficulty of the subject. For eg the subject EDC is taught in both the CS dept and core dept, but the real depth and conceptual knowledge is more in core branches, which is really necessary for the core students as the semiconductor industry is in a boom. Talking about the exams , there are not too many. Some professors might take a class test , and apart from that there are only mid sem and end sem exams. Mid sem is of 1hr 30 mins and is of 20Marks only while end sem is of 3 hr and of 50 marks. For those subjects in which there is a lab class, 30 marks are of the lab only and in those which have a tutorial class, the marks are based upon the performance in the CT and the attendance. End semester exams are a bit difficult than the mid semester as each question is of 5 marks. You get 3 ques from each unit out of which you have to attempt any 2.
Internships Opportunities
There are on campus placements also in the college. Most of them are open only for the computer science dept only and are for the tech field. On coming to lower branches , the opportunities to get a internship gets lowered . Also the on campus internships are based upon your GPA only. Suppose if the google is hiring interns, and it wants the students only above 8.5GPA, you are eligible only if you have a GPA above 8.5. So maintaining a good GPA is really an important task. Even the professors and students work together and publish the research papers. Our college has presented many research papers with for eg Ms Anuradha Tomar, Mr Bhavnesh Kumar and many more. You can ask the prof regarding this and you may choose your team of about 2-3 students only. Regular meets are there and proper timeslines and deadlines are there. I know many seniors who have done their intern in second year itself from companies like UBER etc. I know one senior ,she had a stipend of 2.3L which is really nice for a fresher. She did this intern in Bangalore in which everything was taken care of by UBER only. She is now placed at Microsoft and has got an offer of 85LPA. So there are really great opportunities that you may take benefits of from NSUT.
Placement Experience
Talking about NSUT, it is one of the best in terms of placement. Almost every company you may think of that costs IIT Delhi also visits NSUT. NSUT has a great placement stats in tech, non tech and in core as well. In tech , you may think of Amazon , Flipkart , google , Microsoft and all the big companies do visit the campus The eligibility for on campus placements purely depends upon the CGPA. So it is really important to maintain a good GPA throughout the course. Students become eligible for placements after the 6th sem only. To check the stats of the company visited and the offers made to each branch , you may visit the TNP website of our college NSUT. 80-90% students were placed from our college in the last placement session. For consultancy and non tech, companies like Deshaw, Bain, TCS,McKinsey etc do visit the campus. The highest package almost goes above a Crore per annum in most of the years , while the avg is around 10LPA, while the median is around 7-8LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is paid in advance for the whole year , which was around 2.4L and increases by 10k every year. The fees is same for all categories. After sometime in the basis of CGPA, some amount is refunded to the EWS,OBC,SC,ST Scholarships are also provided , but the amount gest credited after a long time. I have heard that our 3rd yr seniors have not received their money yet( this is in case of merit based scholarships)
Campus Life
Well the campus can never get you bored. There are so many facilities in the campus itself. For sports , he have a newly built synthetic running track, a dedicated cricket and football ground , 2 basketball courts , 2 volleyball courts , indoor facility of badminton court and table tennis as well. Even the college has a well maintained gym which can be used by the famous students. There are almost 20+ societies or clubs that one can be a part of. Most of them are highly active and regularly participate and organise events in the famous and even in different colleges and universities. Some of them are as JUNOON- the photography soc, MIRAGE- the dance soc, BEBSOCC- the debating soc, ARIES- the robotics soc, ENACTUS, NSS,NCC and many more. Talking about the cultural fests , we have two, one is RESONANZ. It is sort of small fest which is 2 day long, there are many activities which are being organised by the sponsors and the soc in which there are many prizes too. The main fest is MOKSHA, I bet you have heard about it. It is the biggest cultural fest of north India. It is a 3 day long fest. This year in 2025, we had a footfall of around 3lakh students from different colleges. It is all of a different vibe, you will surely love it. This year we had Salim suleman, darshan raval and sunburn DJ as our lineup. This makes it so special. You may even take part in organising the events as it may help you in getting better non tech placements like becoming a coordinator of the event or even the POC.
Hostel Facilities
There are 4 boys hostel, separate for all years and 2 girls hostel. Also there is a hostel JC BOSE which is for the DASA students only. The BH 4(boys hostel first year) and BH-3(second year) have both single and double seater room. Charges for single seater is 39,000 per sem and double seater is 37,000 per sem and the msss charge is 23000 per sem. While the BH2 and BH1 have all single seater rooms. Note all the room in boys hostel are non air conditioned, you simply just get a fan in the room along with a bed, table , chair and an almirah. The JC BOSE is a separate boys hostel for DASA students in which all rooms are double sharing and air conditioned. This is only for the first year only. Form the next year i.e. second, DASA students are given BH-3 only. The prices of JC Bose are 90k including mess for a semester. The girls hostel are both air conditioned and non , and are of triple and quadruple seating. For those who don't want a hostel may take flat and PGs also. Most of them are just in front of the college or nearby in about 800m only. So it is easier for them also. The hostel allotment process is varied upon your distance from college. You need to apply for it on the NSUT IMS portal. Those who have done their schooling form outside Delhi are given first priority , then the transferred case ones. If the rooms are still available , then the students of Delhi region are given rooms based upon the distance from college.
Admission
The reason why I chose this college is a bit of personal reason. My two years of hard work didn't pay off well and I didn't want to go to a pvt college, I had made up my mind for that. I was also getting the same branch ICE in BITS too , but due to the reason that it is far away from my home was a bit challenging for me. Also I was getting ECE in Thapar but it was rejected it as the fee is really high. For NSUT, you need to give the JEE mains exam, and after that fill up the JAC counselling. For BITS we have BITSAT exam in which there are two attempts and the best of two counts. Similarly it has its own counselling. For Thapar , you can get admission on the basis of BOARDS score and JEE Mains score as well. The admission process is not that difficult , everything is online , from the fee payment to choice filling. But once the seat is alloted in a particular branch, you need to appear physically the the desired college, in which all the documents will be examined. If you fail to do so or if there is any disperency in the documents , seat will be cancelled immediately. So fill all the required details carefully.
Faculty
The faculty in the college is really good , specially in the CS dept and the ECE dept, regular experiments are carried out in the lab classes , except for the programming one. The faculty to student ratio is pretty good Our college has some of the highly respected ntellectual faculties like Ms Anuradha Tomar(ICE dept), and even more you can simply go and check out the website. The faculties I didn't like was my English faculty ,MsTanushree. She never listened to any of the students demands , like if they were late even by 5 minutes , they were absent for her. Also she used to point out and make fun of most of the students in the class. Also Mr Harshmani Yadav (ECE dept), his pet dialogue is SABKO FAIL KAR DUNGA, he doesn't give marks for the correct ques and says he is ants to set an average by himself by failing this much amount of students. That's really bad . Mr Dashrath Kushwaha (CS Dept) , hee never takes classes , makes the attendance short, and then asks the students to ask their parents to call him to give him the reason behind their absence. Also he gives marks on the basis of presentation only and your class behaviour. Talking about the exams , I had 5 subjects in semester 1 and 6 in semester 2, the first semester (in ICE) is pretty easy , just require some practice in basics of mechanical , while the second was like a horror movie, EDC and ECA, you can definitely score good if you do good practice. Talking about the exam level, this year's paper were more tough than the previous years, but if you have prepared well, it's no issue for you. I had SGPA of 9.0 is sem 1 and 8.83 in sem 2 The course is not most likely related to the present world sceneioes but gives you a glimpse of every branch in the first year only. I a first year student so don't know much about it.
Interview Experience
Theee are GDs in the societies PI rounds and even in the English lab class for evaluation. Apart from that there are no such GD rounds There is nothing to worry about this the admission is only through JEE mains exam as discussed begire
Night Life
The nightlife in our college is not much fun. The day scholars are not even allowed in the hostels and if found , there is a fine on them. Also there is a lot of strictness on the timings for girls hostel and the boys hostel (for 1st year). You are not allowed to leave the hostel after 8:30pm, which is like 30 mins flexible. One good thing is that if you are going out of the hostel, you just simply need to make an entry in the register and no one will ask you why and where are you going, no need of out pass like in many private colleges. Also there is not much to do in the night time as the gym and library is closed after 6pm only. One thing is you will surely enjoy your hostel life. You meet new people, watch what they do the whole day, you hang out with them, go out, and the birthday celebrations in the hostel are not less than a movie scene, yes it was all true.
