Course Curriculum Overview

5

Bcom hons is an all round course suitable to any student who had commerce in their +2 and pursuing higher studies in any commercial field like CA,CFA, Actuaries. The curriculum is designed to cater all the basic knowledge of subjects important in the commerce field . According to the NEP 2023 , we have english, constitutional values and environmental studies in our course too. The course may sound overwhelming but its not too difficult and easily manageable with higher studies

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many internship campaigns in the college for students but I personally havent enrolled in any internship because of personal reasons. But my friends have applied to internships and their experience have been good. They give a stipend of about 5-12k depending on the job role and working hours.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Bhawanipur per semester fee is 42000 inr. However the college provides scholarship facilities to people who score above 90% in 12th board exams in that 1st semester fee is refunded and second semester onwards one needs to pay only 30% of the actual fee. It has other reservations for gujarati community as well. Overall the college is affordable keeping in mind the infrastructure and exposure it provides

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of events in bhawanipur. The main fest in December called UMANG its a 4-5 day fest and a special guest appearance is also observed every year. Mohit Chauhan, kailash kher, varun dhawan such famous celebrities come to our college. There are a lot of clubs which you can join like dance , fashion show , stock market, economics, as well as there are other activities like kickboxing classes, chatgpt classes and tally prime

Admission

I didn't apply to any other colleges because i had in mind that i had to go to Bhawanipur only because of its infrastructure facilities and Scholarship scheme. The bcom hons morning section does not have strict attendance policy which makes it easier for us to pursue higher studies. Admission process is very simple through the college online portal and a minimum of 55% aggregate is necessary in 12th boards to get into this college

Faculty

4

There are multiple teachers for each subject. They teach different parts of the same subject. The class has a strength of 100 students but hardly a handful people attend college. There are internal exams as well as external exams conducted by Calcutta University

Night Life

3

The main hangout area for bhawanipur students is forum Mall which is like 100m away from the college. There are a lot of cafes near college to hangout and chill . The college canteen is very affordable and clean and the food is very tasty. I'm not sure about the area at night because the evening batch is a boys batch. Girls batches are in early morning and afternoon and yes the area is very safe during that time

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.
