IIT(ISM) DHANBAD, THE DIAMOND IN THE CITY OF BLACK DIAMONDS.

Actually I have opted for Mining Machinery Engineering in this college but after the second semester, my beach got upgraded to Electrical Engineering and from the beginning I always wanted to be in a circuital branch so it was all I ever wanted. The curriculum of the subject prepares the student not only for the semester exam but also for the real world industries. The curriculum covers every aspect of industrial training and ensures that the students get placed in the industry pretty easily. As the faculties themselves are the masters of the subject I don't think there are such areas of improvement in the course curriculum or the teaching methodology. We have two semesters in a year and in each semester we have a mid semester examination and an end semester examination along with two quizzes one in the mid semester and another in the end semester. The practical exams are conducted in both semester according to the subjects taught.

At the beginning of the 5th semester the college invites companies for providing internship opportunities to the students. The students also get a chance to perform and work on a project under the supervision of a professor if they aim for higher studies.

Students are eligible for internships after the 4th semester and are eligible for placement from the 7th semester. The institute is visited by a huge number of companies including the top MNC's that includes Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, Meta along with the Indian giants of Tata, ONGC. The season of 2024 placement saw the highest package of 52lpa along with the average package standing at 17lpa. Inspite of the recession in the current session the institute provided placement to almost 75% of the students. After getting the degree I would try for jobs in the PSu sectors including NTPC, BHEL etc.

The tuition fee of the institute for general students is 1lakh and hostel fees is 18k and other fees is 8k for odd semester and 18k for even semester. The complete cost of education stands at 126450 in odd semester and 135450 in even semester Although there are some scholarship that one can avail including the Vivekanand Scholarship and Inspire scholarship for all students. Whereas, there are also some special scholarship for girls and other scholarship for SC, ST students.

The campus life of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad is one of its kind as there are many places to hangout after a complete stressful day. On top of it the annual techno management fest, Concetto and the Socio-cultural fest, Srijan, which is also East India's Largest Socio-cultural fest gives the students a mesmerizing experience that they never forget.

The hostel facility are outstanding but the food quality of the mess can be better. The hostels offer proper sanitation like daily cleaning of toilets, proper pest control. The hostel also provides amenities like wifi and geysers for hot water.

For entering into this college one need to clear the JEE-Advanved exam that is conducted every year. The students need to clear the JEE-Mains first and based on their performance in JEE-Mains they are selected for JEE-Advanved. There are reservation benefits offered to General-EWS students OBC students and SC ST students. There are two semesters every year with a mid semester examination and end semester examination in every semester. They are not that difficult as the JEE-Advanved, students pass the exams easily studying two to three days before the exams. As the admission is mostly online so it would be better if the institute try to modify their website for better experience.

The faculty to student ratio is pretty decent unlike the private colleges and every faculty tries their best to help the students to excel in their field of study. Most of the faculties have achieved their doctorate degree from reputed foreign institutes and domestic institutions. The current director of the institute was professor of IIT Delhi in the Electrical Engineering Department. The faculties are always there to help us whenever needed be it in theory or be it in project building in practical class. They are always there to provide us the best support and help us in our studies.

The nightlife is also one to cherish about as the fields and the recreational activities get filled with people playing their sports or performing their hobbies. The stalls and the canteens open at evening and there's always a continuous buzz around the stalls. The students also get freedom to roam in the institute at night so they can easily enjoy the night life of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad.
