A look inside of IIM Rohtak

The curriculum doesn't separate management and law. It provides a perfect mixture of both. The curriculum does not limit the students to stick to the course and also teaches us foreign language as well. The students have to keep studying as exams are conducted very often and the difficulty level is usually moderate to hard.

There are many internships provided by our colleges. Different IIM's and IIT's offer internships to us with stipend ranging from 2k-5k. I have previously worked as a business development intern and also a summer intern at MOHAN Foundation.

Students in their final year are eligible for placements. There are many companies from all over the world that come for the placement. The highest package has gone upto 30 lakhs. While the average package is 19 lakhs. Our college provides 100 percent placement. Students can opt to not sit in the placements and find jobs on their own as well.

The fees structure for everyone is same irrespective of their category. The total programme fee is ? 32,47,450. Every student pays ? 6,42,000 every year for 4 years. For the 5th year everyone is supposed to pay ? 6,79,450. Per year programme fee does not include mess, hostel, and utility charges. Additional hostel usage charges of ? 36,000 for the academic year will be payable by those who avail hostel/PG facility. Mess charges of ? 53,000 for the academic year will be payable. Electricity, Maintenance and other charges will be paid by the students as per actuals. Development fee of ? 10,000 will be charged annually. In addition to the above, a Security/caution deposit of ? 10,000/- (refundable) will be charged in the first year from the students

The college doesn't have many events as such but does celebrate majority of the festivals and also conducts many sports events as well. Also there are many commities run by the students itself like the sports committee, cultural, internship, and placement committee.

The room is not that spacious for 4 people. We are provided with free wifi, bunk beds and cupboards. The mess food is good and hygienic and is provided 4 times a day. The hostel charges are ?36000 and the mess charges are 56000

I did not apply to any other college as I wanted to get in this college only. I gave an exam called IPMAT which enrolls us in either BBA MBA course or BBA LLB course if you apply for the latter. For those who want to pursue only law, they can also get in through CLAT. To be eligible for the exam the student should have scored minimum 70 percent and for those under reservation category 65 percent. After clearing the exam you are shortlisted for a personal interview conducted online or offline. After the interview, if the student is selected, they get an offer letter.

The faculty is carefully selected from all over the world. Unfortunately I won't be able to disclose any faculty names. All the professors were very kind and highly knowledgeable. Our exams are conducted after every 1-1/2 months. The difficulty level is moderate to hard however, that depends on the professor as well. Majority of the students pass the exams as the faculty makes sure everyone understands the concepts clearly.

The interview started off with the panel asking me to introduce myself and my first question was asked about to speak on the topic artificial intelligence for 1 min. Following that, I was asked about my 12th stream and was asked questions on that. After that they asked me a question on the current affairs and any current news going on india.

Students are not allowed to leave their hostels after 9 pm. Before 9 students are allowed to roam around the campus itself, going out of the campus is not allowed. The most popular hang out area is at the cafeteria. The gym closes by 9 and the library as well for undergraduates.
