What Students Say

Likes

The education quality is good. College provides placement training, induction programs through the 4 years.
Experienced faculty who teaches in both English and malayalam.
Labs are available. Courses also provide additional courses like python learning etc.

Dislikes

College has little to no programs. Like tech fest arts fest and other celebration. It is very focused on Acdamic.
Hectic schedule of classes. Extra classes in weekend.
The location of the college is far from main roads.

Course Curriculum Overview

Ktu curriculum is very short. Our first semester was only 3 months. In this 3 months each subject had 5 modules and 2 internal exams and then final exam.. The average semester is only 5 months ar maximum. In it very theory based as well.. Final exam consists of 100 exams written exam and 50 exams internal exam.

Class Size: 66Course Fees: INR 124000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship was provided by LCC in 2nd year. College doesn't provide any stipend internship. You have to do it own your own. 2nd year we have to do micro project. 3rd year mini project. College provides great atmosphere for entrepreneurs and startups.

Placement Experience

End of S5 onwards campus placement starts. Amazon, Infosys. Almost everyone gets placement but package varies from 5000 to 30000 .Depending on department placement rates varies some departments like computer science have 75% placement. Other departments like civil have 25 % placements

Fees and Financial Aid

For management quota fees alone is 124000. Along with caution deposit and exam fee like ktu admission it was around 140000Overall first year itself 140000. Every year the amount may vary. But it comes around 140000 for management quota.. You can get merit with your keam score and fees comes around 70000 in that case.

Campus Life

After covid the fest of college are not happening. Last year arts fest vipanchika took place in April. Library is a key attraction of our college we have around 20000 books. With have smart classrooms. Sports takes place in odd semester but no other extracurricular activities are offered. We have TinkerHub. Orso, yuva which are student run organization.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rent is 2000 per month along with mess fee of 5000. Each room consists of 3 people. We have warden at every floor and security also. Meal quality is good and menu is interesting. PG are available nearby. Hostel is inside campus.

Hostel Fee: INR 72000 per year

Admission

Admission is based on keam and Jee. Eligibility - you gave to pass the exam. For Rank around 20000 we will get admission here for computer science. Other branches rank is not a issue. You will get admission no matter that.

Faculty

Computer science department is very crowded each class has around 65 students.. Other departments only have 25 to maximum 50 students. Faculty are friendly and easy to approach. 2 internal exams 2 model exam 1 main exam along with 2 lab exam and lab finals. Depending on the subject failed students vary some subjects have 25 failers while some subjects have none

Night Life

We don't have nightlife. Gym is open from morning 6 to 8 and it is mixed gym. Hostel is strict for girls. we have to enter hostel before 6 45 pm. We have very couple friendly campus. There are lots of spots for couples like garden. Permission of parents is required to step out of campus. College starts from 8 45 to 3 45. Eat and meet, Thomas ettan 's chaya kadha, suni chethan Baji katta are beta by spots.

Placement Experience:

Placement Experience:

Placements cells are supportive in terms of networking with different companies and are readily active for the students competing in getting internships and placements. The college has a tie up with different companies like Infosys , Wipro , Deloitte , IBM , NVIDIA , Deshaw Private Limited etc. Students become eligible from semester 5 onwards for on campus placements. The offers made by these companies are 8 LPA to 9 LPA by deloitte , innfosys , and IBM but the highest package is being offered by Deshaw and NVIDIA that is 60 LPA and 47 LPA. The average package is around 11 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed are above 80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work for an IT Company to get the hands on knowledge about what the current technologies demand and get experienced in that and work further upon it.

Experience as a first year student at NIT calicut

Placement Experience:

Here we recieve a really high number of offers this year it was around 970, The highest package received this year was 44.42 lpa and average was around 12 lpa Accenture, Bharat electronics limited are few of the top hirers, intel and nvidia also hire from here they are more relevant for ece students The percentage of students getting placed is 81% I will most probably try for a direct placement, I'm not thinking about higher studies(MTECH)after UG but that might change in the future

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

The other colleges i applied was all govt colleges.i couldn't got the rank to get there because i got less rank in keam exams.so i choose the best college i could get on my marks. I got 25526 rank in keam examination such that i cracked in here and also i wanted to be here because my super seniors where here they also insisted me that scms school of engineering is a good college.our college is a managemental college accredited by govt either we should crack keam exam or we should jee exam or we be nri quota. SSET- from the viewpoint of a student

I applied to government colleges and MITS ,RIST and FISAT too among with SSET. But I got confirmation letter from SSET in my first allotment itself. I choose SSET because it has a great infrastructure and wide possibility of opportunities. One of my relative was an alumni of this college and I got to know about the college from her perspective. The response I got from others whenever I asked about my college was really positive and hence I chose SSET. I never got rejection from other colleges I applied to, I simply chose to settle in the first college I got allotted after my KEAM Rank list got published. I chose SSET over other colleges because other colleges were really expensive and I never wanted to push my family to go through such a hard time just for my education. Even though I got admitted to a really great college with a high quality course the fees there in one sem was twice the amount I had to pay in SSET for a year The admission process of my college was quite simple.All we had to do was submit my certificates and sign a few papers. It Lasted only one and half hours. The eligibility to get here included passing the KEAM Exam and having 50% or more pass mark in plus two.
