Remarks
In my point of view college is good but some improvisation should be done to make it best. Some initiation for different workshop on current technologies and encouragement towards extra curricular activities will ensure the enthusiasm of students are maintained.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is Ok ok. I'm telling this because it mainly emphasize on the theory part, but when you come to industrial sector it is 25-30 years back. Curriculum should be improvised according to current scenario.
Internships Opportunities
No our college don't provide internship. If you want to go under internship, you have to take permission from HOD & Principal to attend the internship and after the completion, you have to submit the documents.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite good as compared to different campuses in Bangalore. Mainly IT giants recruit and some good core companies come to our campus like Continental, Bosch, Kalki, Hero etc. If you are in CS background course you will be very easily placed, but if you are from non-IT background, then you have to put in extra effort.
College Events
There are cultural and technical events celebrated on our college as out intra college feat is known as VERVE.The top performer from Verve takes part in Kalanjali which is our intercollege fest. There are departmental fest also like AADHAR for telecom, ZEUSVILLE for ECE AsEEEmith for EEE etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
According to a middle class people it is expensive but when you compare with other reputational colleges it is feasible, because hostel fee is very nominal of 55-70k per year. The college fee is 1.5 lakh per annum. (This all data is for the academic year 2014-2018)
Fees and Financial Aid
I can't say about scholarship but yes definitely for J&k students fees are very less of approximate 50k per year. Also there is an award for EEE student who secures above 80% in all semester of ?2000. Students scoring 125/125 marks are awarded with ?500 cash awards. Students with all semester FCD is awarded with a cash prize and gold medal with merit certificate.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are normal, but they are trending these days due to joining of new and young faculties who are encouraging students to follow their passion and make their goals oriented in the same direction. Our college support active participation in different cultural and technical activities held in ours as well as different colleges in Bengaluru.
Hostel Facilities
Boys hostel has 5 buildings named as unit 1, unit 2, unit 5, mess block and old PG. Unit 5 and old PG has attached bathroom so it's cost is little high 60-70k. Unit 1, unit 2 and mess block has common bathroom so their charges are less. Food is little South oriented, and it is OK Ok, but when I was in youth year (2017-2018), I had tried my level best to improve it as I was the mess perfect and food standard was improvised. Also I have heard the authority has decided to separate the mess as north Indian and south Indian. Doors are locked at 10:00 pm. Everyday attendance is taken at 9:30 pm. There is Gym, badminton court and table tennis court beside boys hostel campus. And outdoor game area is near girls hostel campus. Sir MVIT has the biggest cricket ground in VTU.
Alumni/Alumna
As of now I am in contact with around 300 seniors who are pass out from our college. They are really helpful and resourceful. Alumni network from college is not so effective. U have to be proactive for this. But as a 2018 pass out I'm trying my best to make sure the connectivity with senior alumni becomes stronger as it is good for the students as a feedback so that they can be resourceful before entering in industrial network. In my point not view whatever I had not got or I was unable to get, I'll try my best so that my juniors will not suffer the same.
Exam Structure
In one semester there are three internals and one external examination for both theory and practical. Internal exam is of 25 marks and best of two is evaluated, and then the average of both is taken as final marks. The external exam is of 100 marks for theory and 50 marks for practical. The total evaluation per subject is 125 in theory and 75 in practical. So generally the total marks is of 900 (125×6 + 75×2).
Admission
At the time of 12th board, I wrote COMEDK exam, where I got a rank of 5595. After one month of the result announcement, 1st counselling started and according to my rank I was called on the 3rd day of starting of counselling in NMKRV college Jayanagar, Bengaluru. There the paperwork and document verification happened and they had asked for a DD of ?50000. I opted for Sir MVIT and then I went to the stalls section where all the famous colleges had put their stalls for any guidance. I met a person named as G.M Krishna yah. Later I got to know that he is the HOD of chemistry department in Sir MVIT.
Faculty
No doubt some of the faculties in our college are scholar and expertise in their subjects, or you can give them a term "subject matter experts". But the percentage of these highly qualified faculties are 25%. Otherwise maximum faculties are like fresher's, and some who are experienced also have some their preassumptions that young minds have no knowledge, they never encourage students for something innovative. But yes definitely I'll say our principal M.S.Indira was one of the best principal, Specially my EEE department was the most chill department. Faculties were very supportive and empathetic.
