Permanent campus is not there, so it's a bit difficult for students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course is competitive according to the Indian scenario right now exams are being conducted frequently and two final semester exams are conducted every year. Exams are of moderate level and presentations are taken quite often to check students confidence.

Internships Opportunities

Students from Departments like psychology and political science etc can avail Summer and winter internships where they get practical experience about things they are taught in the class during the university hours

Placement Experience

The campus placement facility for this university is not quite active for all the departments, since the location of this university is remote and there are lots of arts department in this university so it's not possible.

Fees and Financial Aid

The overall fees for a 2 year Msc course is approx 10000. The fees is same like other except for hostel fees that is different for different categories. There are different types of scholarships available for students.

Campus Life

There are different types of events that takes place in the university and annual college fests are also being conducted for the students. Library and cafeteria are also available in the premises of different departments.

Admission

I did apply for different universities across India and across the northeast. The selection criteria for this university is based on CUET-PG exam and their scores and the cut offs are decided accordingly.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is well good enough and they are very friendly and experienced too. It's based on UGC guidelines so the exams are conducted based on that also there are 2 semesters per year so 2 final semester exam per year is conducted.

Interview Experience

For admission no interview or any written test was conducted by the university. Instead the students have to qualify CUET PG and apply in the university portal for the admission and wait for the merit list to be posted in the university website

Night Life

As the university is in the gangtok town area the students can enjoy pretty good night life. The most attractive and famous hangout space being the famous Mg marg. Hostel timings are quite strict and students have to enter hostel till 8 pm

An honest college review

Placement Experience:

Placement cell is available in the University but it is not active for most of the department available right now. Also considering the remote location of the university and the department from every field are not actually eligible for placement such as History.

A decent university for environmen lovers

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was into this course and field is also good mostly practical work is done hood here One and half months is the frequency of the exams More practicality would be good for teaching ..it kind of decent for real word bt more cam be done

A university in the Himalayas.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since the most important aspect of our course is field Work, what can be better than experiencing field Works in the Himalayas. Himalayas are the best place to apply your theoritical knowledge to the field. Not only field living in Himalayas means every single second you are watching and learning something about Geology. Improvement can be done in increasing the numbers of field works, we go for 14days field training twice in the course.

Well equipped nfrastructure and excellent faculty.

Placement Experience:

From the final year, a student becomes eligible for campus placements. Companies like Microsoft, Wipro, byju's and a lot more recruit students for placements. The highest salary package is 900000 per annum whereas the average salary is 600000 per annum. On an average 80-90% students get placements.

About Sikkim University

Remarks:

The only thing I regret about my university is that it doesn't have a campus of its own. Doing any program in university finds a lack of coordination in the department. University is currently in the rented building spread throughout Gangtok city.

Remarks:

Overall I can say that college is a great place to be. The college has a wide variety of extracurricular activities but it does well to make a student realize his true capabilities and excel in life.

Great learning from amazing professors

Remarks:

I chose this college because it was feasible and close to my state (Assam). It was the only central university close to my state which provided psychology honors. Honest my review

I had applied at jnu but did not got selected and few others but this university was closer to my home and Sikkim is a great place to study because of the people very good. I feel safe and secure had lots of fun.
