- The major thing I like about my college is everything is available here. Since the colleges nearby town , you get everything you need is easily.
- Buses train stations metro stations near by so travelling is very affordable and comfortable
Dislikes
- The results here are delayed a lot with result difficulty for students who have back papers.
- The university is has large area so students without vehicles have to walk a lot within the campus
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 4 years in BTech course each year has has two semester. Each semester has 6 theory papers and to laboratory papers . Theory paper have three credits and lab has one credit. Student has to score 10 credits minimum in each year. Otherwise the student May year out. There are two internal examinations and one semester examination. First internal is conducted mid of the semester and 2nd internal is conducted 2 weeks before the semester exam.
Placement Experience
Students from 7th semester are eligible for campus placement. Companies like Reliance LNT Vedanta Tata Power TCS recruit from a college. The packages range from 3lpa to 10 lpa. About 30% of the batch get placed every year. I am placed now in Reliance so I would be going when offer letter comes
Fees and Financial Aid
There are two type of fee structure follow in CUSAT . For state merit students the fees is about 30000 for semester and for all India students the fee is about 48000 per semester. The reservation students have a lower fee. The tuition fee is exempted for certain reservation categories. There is egrantz scholarship available for EWS students there are certain other national scholarships for girls like Pragati.
Campus Life
There are many events conducted in Cusat. There is an annual arts festival sargam which is held in month of March . There are sports events like soe sports , kurkshetra . There are also many project groups like SAE and HORIZON. Many non technical clubs like ieee ,seds IGBC are also there which have there own annual events.
Hostel Facilities
There are hostels provided by university . Admission here is based on distance . Students who life far are given higher priority. Students with reservation are also given priority. The hostel are nice and affordable . The rent is 500 per month and food is about 2000-3000 per month . The food is south indian food .
Admission
Cusat is actually a big University is famous for its studies and infrastructure and events. To get admission in this college you have to write CAT examination with a held in the month of May every year. I apply to colleges like st Stephen's and Delhi University for for BSC honours course and I was selected but I was more interested in engineering so I choose this
Faculty
There are about 70 students for each batch. The faculty here is good and the teach very well. There are two faculty coordinators for each batch. There are about 15 to 20 teachers. A teacher takes two subjects for a year. The examination here are moderately difficult and but the teachers here to help to prepare the exam so a few students only fail to clear the exams. Learning the material 2-3 days before the exam will will help clear the exams
Interview Experience
There were no gd or interview . You have pass the cat exam and shortlisted for the rank list . Then admission is given based on the rank list . Students with higher rank are given first priority . And once you are selected , you have to confirm that admission.
Night Life
There is an amenity centre where gym and place recreational activities are present. There is canteen available. Also many restaurants are nearby which provide affordable food. The university is open to everyone . But girls hostel have a curfew till 11 pm . There are many parks and cafes to hangout .
