Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum gives a vast knowledge about the subject. The main speciality is that it also contains practical sessions. We have the practical course R Programming and also the teachers insists us to do more than the curriculum, ie to do courses of Python Programming, Data analysis etc. There are a lot to improve also. Some subjects are little bit tough as it contains lots of derivations and integrations. But some subjects are very interesting as it contains many life examples.

Placement Experience

4

Our department have a low rate of direct placements. But our course is a high valued course and we have a better placement possibility. The department must be little bit more careful about the placement activities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for my course is Rs 9000 per year. This amount includes various components such as tutition fees etc. In terms of financial aid, the institution provides various scholarships and grants to support students.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is so good. The campus have a vast area to explore. The university park is so natural, good to sit and talk. There a wide variety of plants that are flowering which is very nice. A big university gym and ground is there which helps students in the physical as well as the mental well being.

Hostel Facilities

4

Mens hostel admission procedures was easy. There are volunteers to assist us. I got single room as I am little bit away. Hostel have 4 blocks. Some are new blocks and the others are old. The new block rooms are nice and also spacious. I have the old room, so the rooms are little bit old and also space is little low. But I love the room and feels a special connection.

Admission

The main reason is that it is one of the best campus in India to study the course. There are many other reasons too. The campus is 24 hours, which helps students in many ways. One is that it helps students in decision making, we have to choose ourselves how we could use our time. The second thing is that we can decide what activities we can do. Well equipped library. This is the univeristy library and contains a lots of books to read and also for refrence. There is a vast coillection of newspapers and also the periodicals. But new coming trending books are not available fastly and the trending books are all fastly booked. There are a lot more faetures such as university park, learning space and also this campus have a lot of areas to walk etc.

Faculty

4

The faculty at my campus plays a vitol role in shapping the academic abnd personal growth of students. In our department we have 3 permanent staffs, who are all doctorate holders. The teaching environment fosters individual attention and all teachers are high experienced and very friendly. One of the key aspect of the faculty is their dedication. The course is student friendly as it gives students the whole basics and a vast idea fore the students about the subject. The exams are challenging but fair. The teachers are willing to help if any doubts occurs. Overall, the faculty, course structure and exams are all nice. I am satisfied with them.

Interview Experience

4

There is a written entrance examination to joint university of calicut, campus. After that they prepare a merit list and the selection is made accordingly. The merit list is prepared by classifing into different reservation groups like EWS, SC,ST etc.

Night Life

5

Campus is 24 hours and therefore we have a great night life. The main programmes are also held in night. There are many food spots nearby and also they are also open in night. They are little bit away but it very effectively accessible if we have a vehicle.

I choosed to study msc applied psychology in kerala university. Because it offers my interested specialization ( organizational behaviour) . The course provides three specializations - clinical , industrial and educational. As it is applied psychology it equipes us to become more practical.I wish the placement cell to be more efficient in our university. Because the placements they offers are limited

Remarks:

JEE Rank was the main factor. The facilities like hostel, labs, etc mentioned in the IIT Palakkad website. During the allotment process, one senior girl student of my branch contacted me and cleared all my doubts whether it was small or big, placement details, etc. After the rankings were released, based on the previous years cut-off ranks, I was able to get a fair idea about the colleges I would be able to join among all the IITs, NITs, IIITs. Based on JEE Mains rankings, NIT or IIITs can be chosen. Based on JEE Advance ranking, IIT can be chosen. Also, 2 mock allotment will take place which gives a fair idea of which allotment we will get. These mock allotment will be based on our preferences. We can change them after the mock. Then the actual allotment will start. Once we finalise our preferences and lock them, there will be 7 rounds of allocation. 3 options will be given in each round-Float, Freeze,Slide (details will be clearly mentioned in the website). Once you are allocated a seat in any round, document verification will take place (seat acceptance fee must be paid at this stage).
