Remarks

There use to be talks by eminent personalities from all over India. They are really good and insightful. Besides, DSE organizes Winter School, an annual lecture series and paper presentations, in which scholars from various big universities in the world come and speak.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is extremely good. In the first year, there are 6 compulsory courses, 3 each in each semester. There is also an optional course to be done in three second semester. In each of the second-year semesters, four optionals courses must be done. Details about the courses can be seen in the college website. The end term exam usually arw problem - solving than essays (for most courses) as DSE is known for its rigorous mathematical treatment of the courses. Pass rates therefore becomes low sometimes.

Placement Experience

4

Almost hundred percent placement have been provided for those who have been eligible for placements over the years. Placement process takes place for internship too. The companies visiting the campus are mostly MNCs - JPMorgan, Nomura, Walmart, Citibank, P&G etc. The highest package is around 28 LPA and the minimum is around 10 LPA. The average package is ariund 13-14 LPA. The stipend for internship ranges from 10,000 to 1,20,000 depending on the company.

College Events

2

DSE is particularly not famous for its festivities. There is a fest called Ahaan which gets celebrated annually, and then there is a graduation ceremony for second years. I don't think it give your the great vibes that your undergrad fests did.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is 8000 Rs per year, which I think is very cheap for such a good course. This should be viewed taking into account the quality of education as well as the high placement package the companies offer.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a lot of scholarships available for general as well students from different categories. You can get the details from college website. Besides you can apply for government scholarships too. One important scholarship is the Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarship.

Campus Life

3

There aren't much extracurricular activities going on in the college. The social services wing is active and they do various activities like donation drive, blood donation camp etc. from time to time. Some students take initiatives to organize discussions on social issues and all but the participation are usually very scanty.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is very useful for placements. Most of the companies are contacted through alumnus who have been students of DSE. Since DSE graduates are there at top posts in various MNCs, they are very helpful.

Admission

I applied for the programme and took the entrance. I was fortunate enough to get a seat and joined. Half of the seats (more than 115) are open for entrance-mode admission and the rest are open for merit-mode (only for DU students).

Faculty

4

The faculty are world class. Most of them have done their PhDs from Ivy league and other famous universities in the world. Many of them have taught at foreign universities too. However, like in any other college, there will be professors whose mode of teaching you like and whose you don't. They are definitely resourceful anyway, and are food researchers themselves.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very less. Jamia have outdated syllabus for Psychology. There is only a specialization comes in the third semester. But the compulsory two montha field work internshipnte is effective. It is a beginning for the preparation for us for the real world applications. But in Jamia we have many time for preparing for other competitive examinations for higher studies. Exams and teaching methods are good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Doing master in political science was the obvious choice for me because I have done my graduation in political science and if you are talking about the academics pursuit in this field you can how to do PHD after Clearing your net exam but there will be no other Job opportunity you will get in this course. The only scope you have that you can prepare for upsc or other government exams. Otherwise, if you are from engineering background that is, you have done your graduation from engineering then definitely you should opt further in this field only.

According to me, coming to JNU has been an life-altering experience for me. It has taught to embrace people from different backgrounds equally and also lended me the confidence to speak out my mind, even when it is not a popular opinion, whenever I want to. Also, the freedom of personal space that one can enjoy in this campus, without falling prey to any judgement, is also very inspiring and motivating.

Remarks:

Overall Hindu College excels in each and every aspect, including teaching and non-teaching staff. The admin section is also very helpful and efficient. It is a wonderful space to spend the prime education years. If there has to be a negative remark, it is the washroom and toilet facilities. It is not well managed at all, especially the women's washrooms.

SAU is good in faculty and curriculum but its not good in facilities. Sau don't have any good campus. It feels like that one is coming in an institute to attend classes. Despite having great fees i.e. almost 30k per semester they provide us with zero facilities. Its a place for hostllers. Students coming from other states can find this place heaven. But for day scholars like me its like a punishment. I don't feel like going to college as you are excluded. Either they should have hostels for everyone or they should have other facilities.
