Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is pretty good and I checked it with other universities and it's either on par or at times even better. It's providing you the material which most students pursuing this course will in their own unis. The difficultly of exams is moderate and one can clear if they study properly. It's hard to always get good scores as the scoring is a bit inconsistent which can suck at times.
Fees and Financial Aid
The BA English Honours course at IGNOU is an affordable and flexible option, with fees ranging from ?3500 to ?4200 per year, further reduced by opting for digital study materials. As an open university, it does not offer hostel facilities, and students only need to visit exam centres for tests. The fee structure is consistent across categories, with financial aid options like merit-cum-need scholarships and government fee waivers available. With minimal admission requirements (12th-grade pass), it is ideal for working professionals or those resuming education. Regional centres in each city offer academic and administrative support, making it a cost-effective choice for higher education.
Campus Life
There's no campus life, it's an open university. One doesn't really have extracurriculars or so. They do organise events but they aren't that popular. The student portal can be updated but it's usable and does help a lot.
Admission
There's not much to worry about. There's no specific exam or anything. All information is available on IGNOU's website just keep an eye on the dates when the admission starts. You'll need your ID details, photo and your grade card that's about it. There's no specific preference of any kind and everyone who applies gets in considering you qualify the bare minimum eligibility criteria
Faculty
You've facilities which provide online sessions if needed but for most part you'll be self studying and taking advantage of online crash courses which is helpful considering it's an open university and not really an university where you attend offline classes.
Interview Experience
I didn't. There aren't really interviews or GDs for the admission and the admission process is completely online. The admission fee is minimal and almost anyone can take admission. It's a good way to get a degree or complete your education later in life. There are multiple courses available so do check out other courses if you're interested.
Night Life
Again, open university so your house is your campus so you get what nightlife you have in your city. That's all there is to it. But I don't understand why this matters to students considering you're there to study not party but sure.
