Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum consists of too many subjects. A vast fields can be studied. Besides theory , practical experiences can help to get attached with the farmers. It is a semester based system. 2 semester a year and 10-12 subjects each semester. Every subjects more or less have their own practical and theory exams and both internal and external exams held throughout the year.
Placement Experience
No internships are provided. But at the end of the 4th yr we had a visit to a village to experience the work of the farmer with them called RAWE( rural agriculture work experience). The placement cell is active but needs to be more. There are huge opportunities as one can go for banking , BCS, msc or some others such as farming whatever they want. No stipends are given.
College Events
1. Nexus , a freshers welcome program 2. Naibedya, a Rabindra jayanti program 3. Anuranan, a farewell program for the seniors to bid goodbye And amongst the other there are Unmesh , an ultimate talent hunt comprising cultural and sports competition interyear. Besides the 15 th aug, 23rd and 26th Jan , Saraswati puja , biswakarma puja are celebrated throughout the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is very much feasible since only 1200/ per semester is the fee. The fee needs to be paid at the end of the semester. And sometimes a book grant is also provided. Since this is a govt based institution, the fee structure is not too expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship is provided by the college. Since with a low fee structure, no loans or scholarships are needed.but the quota candidates such as SC OR ST can avail some scholarship provided by the University.
Campus Life
The labs facilities are good with instrumentation is well equipped. The sports tools are available for all kind of sports such as table tennis cricket football etc. The college runs a cultural committee to check the cultural activities and participates in the cultural programs.
Hostel Facilities
Yes I have opted for hostel. Hostel facilities are good since, clear toilets and rooms are good well managed and canteen systems are provided with access to free WiFi. Overall it is healthy and good for study.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are very helpful since they help us in every path of life by guiding with their experience and knowledge.they helped us by providing notes and all for study ,taught us to be smart etc.the alumni is just bulding up and so they will also help us for a better future.
Admission
The higher secondary marks are the basis of admission. 4 subject marks are calculated. (English+biology+chemistry +physics) and an index is prepared based on the percentage and thus a merit list is generated. I ranked 108 in the merit list. And as there are 99 seats in main campus I have to get admitted in extended campus that is in Burdwan with 108 rank.
