What Students Say

Likes

I liked how clubs work and friendly the environment is in them
The students come from good family background and there isn't ragging or anything that I have faced.
There are a lot of food outlets that serve good food.

Dislikes

There are trainers teaching after 1st year which aren't as qualified
The sports here isn't much diverse and the equipment isn't good as well
The campus is very small and there are so many restrictions here as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is well made along with the subjects and courses they teach are quite adequate. The only problem is that they teach very fast and it's hard to cope up and most of the times we have to study a topic on our own just cause the teacher just briefed it.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies like Infosys, adobe, cisco etc. come here. Along with some small companies as well that provide (6-8 lpa) package. The only thing you have to do is take part in competitions and activities to make your cv look better along with apply for multiple technical courses and complete them. Your technical skills will definitely be the most decisive factor but these little things help as well.

Placement Experience

There are definitely opportunities for placement but the average package isn't a lot (about 6lpa). There is an employbility test that segregates students into which companies they can be placed into for followed by test rounds and interviews for companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is about 1.7 lakhs and we have to pay each semester 85 thousand rupees. All the amenities are included in this for day scholars. Hostel fees is seperate. There isn't any extra fees required and as far as scholarship goes it doesn't seem to happen here.

Campus Life

The campus life is unexpectedly fun. It's not boring there are a lot of things to do along with places to hangout. The food is good and the classes are well maintained as well. Events happen more than you would think here due to presence of multiple clubs.

Admission

I applied to a few colleges only as I was not interested in going far away from my hometown. This was the most convenient one from all along with the fact that my sibling had also studied from this college. The admission process is fairly simple and mostly first come first serve.

Faculty

The faculty which is core teachers is actually really good. They are smart and helpful but the trainers that teach mainly in classrooms aren't so good always as they lack the experience to teach the students. There are 4-5 subjects each semester with 3 exams for each subject (st1, st2 and end term)

Night Life

Nightlife isn't something I am much aware of due to the fact that I am a day scholar but according to my friends it's pretty fun. The gym is good and the food is great here. You don't have any activities going on at night except from some classes hosted by culture club.

PEC - History and optimism

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Life at Panjab University

In our college students need to have 6CGPA to still in campus placements and our college have a Club that overseas all the placement oppertunityies and the placement starts from 7th semester onwards when students starts there seventy semester the company's starts visiting campus for placement and internship opportunity as well

Placement Experience:

Yes,very good college placements are available in our college.Students of 8 semester that is 4th year students are eligible for campus placement Companies such as TCS,wipro,amex,gemini solutions and etc many more companies are there for placement 60-80% students got placed in the companies with an average package of 8 lakhs and with a highest package of 35 lakhs Iam oriented towards govt jobs and in future if I will be interested in coding sector I will do preparation for off campus and specifically for Rubrik

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Chitkara University - Everything You wanna know about

I chose Chitkara Univ over a few other pvt colleges in Punjab and nearby states because of its brand name, campus infra, and decent place stats. I had also applied to CU, LPU and a state engg college. I got confirm seat from CU and LPU, but I chose Chitkara as its tech branch and campus env felt more focused and less crowded. The labs and infra looked better during visit. I did not get into a top govt college as my rank was not strong enough in JEE. My prep was not at that level and cut off was high, so I could not make it there. That was mainly due to low score, not any other issue. The admit process at Chitkara is simple. For BTech, 10+2 with PCM and min 60 percent is needed. JEE score is accepted but not must for all seats. Many students take seat based on 12th marks and then do counseling at campus. There is direct apply on site, doc check, fee pay and seat confirm. Cut off is not very high like govt college. The overall admit exp was smooth and fast, with no major issue....Read More

Honest insider review - Chitkara University, Punjab

There was no such entrance exam sort of thing. they were just expecting a minimum percentage in the boards examination that too was very low to be honest. i didnt found such difficulty for the admission process as i had scored good marks in the 12th board. The application form was available on the official website of the university. The fees has been increased the last time i toook admission. It took 162,000 for 1 yr of college fees. No reservation benifits were availed by me being a GENERAL. Overall, the admission process was easy i found no diificulty. Although, they can improve the communication hrough the intermediater who accepted my form and took me thorugh the admission process. as it was online, i found some difficulty in communicating with themaslso havinng some misunderstandings with them.....Read More
