Honest insider review - Chitkara University, Punjab

I choswe B.E as i had interest in computer softwares and tech. faculty and student ratio is very poor here to be honest and i may not have an proper idea but many teachers had been teaching various sections and also due to the poor qualtiy of the faculty, there are very less teachers with decent teaching methods. I found the mid term exams and very easy. we just had to study one night before and we could pass very easily, but we had to study online on our own as the teachers provided us with very little information. Also, the leactures and the teachings methods were a lit boring so we paid very little information in the class. STs were held regular between 20-25 days and between we had our Formative assesments and lab practicals but as i mentioned earlier they were easy to pass ( being an average student myself )

Companies come for providing interships int the Feb- March month. ( end of 5th semester ) Many students which are sincere are offered PPO's but many are also rejected. With only a little knowing about the roles, i can say that companies like TCS, wipro and infosys come looking for mass recruitement. Roles being offered are Data analyst, Web development required roles, many more.. Database management really helps many stuudents in geeting basic level jobs and obviously it mainly depends on your coding skills. DSA is must!!!. I'll emphasise on must! Very important along with DBMS, you can also work on Cyber security and cloud managemnet. Code deployement roles. Stipend: Highest that i know was offered in an international collab at Paris with the chitkara University. 64 lkhs- Amazon. A girl got 34 lpa at Punjab campus at the Amazon. Sorry , i dont know much about the projects and the tasks being assigned.

The companies come for the recruitement at the end of 5th semester and offers nice employement opportunities. As the reccession being in place, i have gained some respect for the university in terms of placement. The seniors told us tyhat about 200 companies came the last time the sat for the interviews and some of them offered greeat packages ( keeping in mind the reccesion ). Highest package offered was around 32 lakhs. 5 students were offered this salary.( Company - cant recall ) The avreage package keeping in mind the mass recruitement ( done by wipro) would be arounnd 5-6 lakhs.

The fees structure were College tution fees- 82,000 per sem ( BE - CSE batch ) Hostel fees - 56,000 per sem ( with common washroom , 4 Seater ) Also, with hostel fees - Laundary and mess facilities is being included with several other facilities in the hostel being common induction and microvave for cooking. now the hostel fees has been hiked as now the college is providing attached washrooms with much more facilities. Being a private institute , i think the fees was average in the starting semesters but as we went through 2 years of coolege, now the prices have been hiked. I personally think the hostel fees is a bit too much. Also, the reason why me and many of my friends left hostel in the 3rd year. There was no such academic scholarship of any sort that i know of. And we'll be sitting for the interviews in the upcoming months. also, the average package is considerable and nice comparing other private universities.

There has been many fests and cultural events going in the college. Some for the hostelles only and others for the whole college. Not to mention the Dj Nights in which we had very fun in the beggining. Talking about the libraby, several good books were included and more is being updated now. Good for coding problems and many other subjects such as CASA, TOC, DBMS. Our classrooms are fully air conditioned although some doesnt even work in some classrooms. Also, equiped with projectors for project display and other activiities. Many sports events take place in my college, such as Tug of war, Cricket competion, Football , basketball, badminton tournaments and many more. Serveral clubs be it cultural, sprots or tech are being run by the students. Mentioning few would be: Lithal gidda - bhangra club NCC club Matrix club Happyness club Sports team club many more.... We also have an Ecell which provides and support startups and ideas.

Hostel facilities is what improve the living and bring about the hostel life. Talking about facilities, we were provided a bed with storage, a personal almirah, a desk and a chair, common - cuboard, mirror in the room. Also, we had a microvave and a induction bas at each floor of the hostel. With electic press - stand for ironing clothes. The mess food as overall nice. Somedays the food was rally delicious and others really bad. We went at athe mess on only those days when the food was good. Talking about menu, it was versatile. Registration process was done at the campus when we were asked to join. It was a very eary go - through process and it was quite affordable. We shifted to Housefed complex, Banur which is 8-9 kms awat from the university. living is better here.

There was no such entrance exam sort of thing. they were just expecting a minimum percentage in the boards examination that too was very low to be honest. i didnt found such difficulty for the admission process as i had scored good marks in the 12th board. The application form was available on the official website of the university. The fees has been increased the last time i toook admission. It took 162,000 for 1 yr of college fees. No reservation benifits were availed by me being a GENERAL. Overall, the admission process was easy i found no diificulty. Although, they can improve the communication hrough the intermediater who accepted my form and took me thorugh the admission process. as it was online, i found some difficulty in communicating with themaslso havinng some misunderstandings with them..
