College is good in infrastructure and buildings are made suitable for winters ...
The faculty are also well educated and PhD holders ..girls to boys ratio is 1:5
The location of the college is awesome and so beautiful as it is situated around the beautiful dal lake....

Dislikes

The placements of the college are disappointing...
The campus area of the college is so small and the people's outside campus is rude
The facilities like 5 seater room are available in all the 3 years no privacy given to the students even in girls hostel there are 6 seaters room

Course Curriculum Overview

The exam timings at the National Institute of Technology Srinagar (NIT Srinagar) vary depending on the exam type and session: B.Tech 2nd Semester End-Term Examination, Spring 2024 The exam time is 9:30 AM–12:00 PM. B.Tech 1st and 3rd Semester Autumn Session 2023 The exam dates and timing were changed due to a notice on September 27, 2023.

Fees and Financial Aid

For gen category whose income is less than 1 lakh per annum fees 96500 yearly included all hostel and mess For income between 1 to 5 lakh the fees is 1lakh 33 thousand yearly included all For income greater than 5 lakh the fees for gen category is 1 lakh 66 thousand yearly For SC and ST category the academic fees is not applicable only hostel and mess fees are to be paid ... Various types of scholarship are given on the bases of rank and marks in jee ....

Campus Life

The campus life is good in NIT SRINAGAR ... The fest is also too good in NIT SRINAGAR ,there are different fests in every year . In this year the fest organised is Techno Fest There are a lot of clubs in NIT SRINAGAR..

Hostel Facilities

There are 5 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for girls ... For the first year students there is 1 hostel for boys names chenab ... The conditions of the hostels is not too good old electric equipment and 5 sharing room is available in all hostels except 4 year

Hostel Fee: INR 16000 per year

Admission

No I did not apply any other college ... I choose NIT SRINAGAR because the location is good and the branch I get here is ECE and I want this branch ... The admission in NIT SRINAGAR is based on the rank and percentile in JEE MAINS entrance exam ...

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio are 1:20... Faculty and student relationship are good Some faculty s are bad but maximum are good. NADEEM Sir is too good faculty ,,he taught enginnering physics I wrote my 1 sem exams the difficulty level is tough

Night Life

There is one gym for boys and one gym for girls ...the gym condition is good but the strength is low in gym because of a space ... The timings for the hostels for boys is 8 pm and for girls is 7 pm .... The library is closed at 12 o clock and opens at 9 am There are a park for couples and students.

NIT Sringar is beautiful!!

Placement Experience:

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

There are in campus placements in our university. Students become eligible for the same from 7th semester. Companies like IBM, AMAZON, WIPRO, INFOSYS, DELOITTE, CGEGG, HONDA, NTPC, ACCENTURE are the top recruiters. The highest package was of 36.5 LPA and the average is 11.5LPA in the year 2023. Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Nit Srinagar the heaven

Admission:

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th. A score of 96 - 97 p;ercentile is enough for an OB/C or General student and 93% -90 perccentile for SC / ST students.
