Course Curriculum Overview

As a first year student, I can surely say that curriculum is up to mark as per the need of the industry. The Mechanical engineering department of the college is very famous here.CSE is also very much in demand of our coolege along with MnC.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 110000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunities in NIT Dgp is not that much here but I can surely say that it is better than that of the other colleges of bengal. Company visits the campus for internship opportunities in our third year.

Placement Experience

From 6th semester, Students get eligible for the campus placement. Our college is one of the fortune College where Apple visit for on campus internship and placement. Along with flipkart ,Amazon, Cisco, TCS, Wipro ect also visit the campus for placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearwise I pay approx 1 lakh , The tution fees is approximately be 66000 along with other charges of 30000.For SC,ST Category and people having family income less than 1 lakh have full fee waiverand have to pay 30000 only.

Campus Life

Our college have a diverse range of clubs involved in different aspects. There are over 20 clubs in our college which primarily focuses on their domains. Each club has 5 domain in common in which tech is overrated.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms contain here are three occupancy which contains three bed, Almirah, Study Table in very splendid condition. The hostel rooms are in good condition and also the hostel is.The washroom also remain in clean condition all the time

Hostel Fee: INR 24000 per year

Admission

Our college take admission through the cental councelling admission (Josaa) process and take only on the merit basis that is based on the rank in the Jee Mains.I have applied for this college as it is in top 10 NIT of Indiaand have great placement record.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is quite good 1:50 and also the faculty is very interactive and good especially the faculty of the ECE department.The Electrical department faculty is a bit strict. There is two exams in a semester along with some surprise test and CA exams,the major exam is Mid term and End term.

Night Life

The night life of the campus is okish type that neither too booming nor too bad but the beauty of the campus at night is splendid. For first year there are restriction and in time fore them is 8:30 pm.The most famous place for hangout in DGP is Duck point.

A comprehensive review of MAKAUT , WB

Placement Experience:

from 6/7 th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys visited with around 22-23 offers , Cognizant visited with arount 15-16 offers , TCS visited with several offers(not sure how many) , that's it the big names. Apart from these small startups and companies visited too. Highest package offered was 11lpa by TCS , 9.6lpa by infosys, 6.48lpa by Cognizant. Profiles were ASE in TCS , PAT in CTS , SET in Infosys. The percentage of students placed was less arount 30-40% , mostly because the curriculum lacks placement prep. I have joined Cognizant as a Programmer Analyst Trainee after graduating .

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management,healthcare,media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting,education,sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING THE DEGREE: After completing the degree my primary focus is to secure a jon through campus placement and gain practical knowledge. Placement was average if you have good background knowledge so you will definitely get placed. After 7th semester companies started coming and also there is different criteria for all companies like some company required more than 8 CGPA that completely dependent on company preferences. The average package is 3.5 lpa .Most of the student get hired by tcs. Placement success based on branch and skill.

Students become eligible for campus placement starting from 6th semester ,meanwhile u can also get paid internship from 5th semester itself .The companies which visited the campus most frequently are Cognizant ,TCS ,Infosys ,IBM ,PwC ,BMC ,Tavisca ,Wipro ,Amazon .Tavisca provided over 12 LPA while BMC provided over 14 LPA ,meanwhile in 2024 ,a new record of highest package emerged which is of 21 LPA.The Average package is 480,000 rupee CTC .Over 80 to 90% of students are placed and the college has a very good alumni network which provides u with referrals and possible jobs.I plan to join a IT company after getting my degree

From 6th semester onwards, Students can get placement offers. Mainly mass recruiter companies like TCS, wipro, Infosys, cognizant comes here.Some top notch mncS like oracle,amazon, Microsoft also comes here .One senior of our previous batch got 1 cr Per annum in off campus way. Avg package is 10 lpa like . Jft and pst branch has full 100% placement. My plan after getting the degree is to be placed in top notch mnc & work as SDE.

I applied for multiple NITs During Josaa Counselling but my top 5 suitable choice according to my home location and considering other limiting factors was NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna and IIEST Shibpur. Apart from these, I have also Applied for Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. I have got approval from NIT DGP,Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. But I have chosen NIT because of better Placement records and better campus Life. Moreover it's an Institution of of National Importance and Hold a good NIRF rank. So I preferred this choice above others. I wasn't rejected from the above colleges, but simply i didn't get the eligible rank for them. And the 3 which I got, i choosed the best among them. The Admission process of NIT DGP was through Josaa and CSAB counselling. The College and the Branch will be alloted to you according to your rank in the JEE MAINS Examination. The Closing rank of this exam in 2025 of General Category for the lowest Branch in BTech is 63387. The overall admission process for the college, apart from hostel allotment, was completely online. 14-15 documents were to be submitted in pdf format in the specific website provided. I was getting all nits of india and also some iits.The only reasons of not choosing them is branch ,i was getting lower branches in all other colleges so i choose this. I think this was the best college onmy rank. I applied to IIEST Shibpur and was getting ECE there but I chose this college because of its brand name, infrastructure and placement which are all way above shibpur. No I did not get any rejection form college I applied for.
