Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is generally reasonable in terms of quantity and the level of depth. But this is not the case fir dinner courses. One semester is of 4 months. Midsem happens roughly after 2 months. TA test or quiz can be taken anytime.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities are also provided by the college. Some companies visit the college starting from 4th sem onwards and offer internships. The stipends are anywhere upto 1 lakh. We can also do research internships under professors of our department during the vacation.

Placement Experience

5

The placements are quite good compared to other colleges especially in the current times when there is a global recession happening. The average package is about 14LPA which is commendable. Above 90 percent of students get placed. Highest package was 83 LPA last year. I plan to sit for the college placements after i get the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is 60000 per semester. Caution fee is a deposit of rupees 5000. The net fee per semester is around 1lakh 6 thousand rupees. There is concession for SC/ST or economically weaker sections students. The fee structure is similar for all branches of BTech. The institute also provides some scholarships that students can apply for using the college portal.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life is one of the best things in this college. There are canteens in every hostel along with a mess. Some other restaurants are also present within the campus. Dominos and CCD have their units here. Saloons , cycle repair shops, grocery stores and laptop repair shops are all available within the campus. Sports facilities are quite good. There is equipment and ground available for football volleyball basketball tennis handball cricket badminton swimming etc. Gyms are also there.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility provided by the college is completely livable. The rooms are smaller but adjustable. Most rooms are for 2 people but you can apply for single rooms as well. Hostel food is average. The menu keeps changing with the caterers. The menu is quite good though. There is also a completely vegetarian mess in the campus.

Admission

I chose this college as it has better rankings in NIRF and other lists. Also the average placement package was a standout among others. I applied to other NITs and IIITs in JOSAA counselling but I got this college based on my rank and the cutoffs.

Faculty

4

The professors are quite experienced and good but some of them are very strict and sometimes not reasonable. There is a faculty advisor for every 60 odd students. The best faculty I have come across is Dr Sudip Kundu from ECE department. He makes the concept easy to understand. One of the people i didn't is Dr. Situ Rani Patre of same department. She doesn't teach well. Evaluation pattern: 30 marks midsem. 50 endsem. 20 Teacher's Assessment.

Night Life

3

Night life is also good. Hostels have night canteens that operate upto 1-2 in the night. The restaurants in campus operate upto 11-12. In the city outside there are many restaurants and other hangout places. The locality is not the safest as there have been some incidents.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
