IIT ISM honest review

I am student of Environmental Science and Engineering. I choose this course as per its research opportunity abd future requirements. In my college from your very first sem subjects related to my course started to being taught. They prepare us to ground level as well as calculative purposes both. I need improvement in practical purposes. Syllabus should include practical applications on field work to increase our potential and understandings. Frequency of exams and difficulty level as per required and according to syllabus and demand.

In our college we get internship opportunities from our 3rd year or fifth semester. They can be of both type paid or unpaid. Companies like google microsoft amazon tata all visit for internship opportunities. The intern provided is can be of analyst post or product management or ant skill we have worked for.

In my college overall placement is quite good but is vary as per branch. Last year overall average was 16.78 lpa and of cse was about 27 lpa. From 3rd year we are eligible for internship and preplacement offers. But majorly in fourth year people got placed. Last year highest package was 56 lpa on campus. Companies like google microsoft tata reliance and nearly all known well companies come to my campus. This year on first day highest package placement offered was of 66lpa and 164 students got offers. My plan is to just explore different things in first year and work on specific interesting field in second year and secure my interest .

The year wise tution fee is 200000 and hostel and mess fee is 75000 for first year and 60000 for rest years. The college provide fee waiver of tution fee. 100% fee waiver in tution fee to all SC/ST and other students having family income less than 100000 per annum. Also 2/3rd remission is provided to students having family income less than 500000 per annum. Also merit list based 6000 rupees per semester provided for financial help.

Overall infrastructure is nice. Clubs are available for anything you want to do. They are technical clubs ; cultural clubs and sports club. There are 4 events in our college. One techfest named concetto in month of october second asia largest techno mining fest khanan in month of October. Third fest is cultural fest sreejan in month of February and fourth one is sport fest parakram in month of feb-march. Our library is one of the largest library in asia. Whole infrastructure of library is best with comfort. Every kind of informative books are available. There are internet connection all over the campus with nice speed. Overall things are nice.

My hostel is named Amber hostel of IIT ISM. It has accommodation of 2 peoples. They have provided chair ; bed to both of us. But table and almirah have to share among us. But if something has to prepare in civil and electrical case they prepare it in one day after complaints. Mess menu is quite okay but food provided is unhygienic. Food quality is not so good on some days. In name of change of menu they just reordee things in different positions. Registration of hostel and things are all online. In name of snack timing they provide only tea with biscuit. This should improve overall whole mess has to improve.

Since i qualified jee advanced with the rank of 15817. I choiced old IIT all branches for choosing college over branch but i could not make thier beacause of my rank. Since I was self study student who also taught tutions to 5-10th class students in preparation time i had no regret. Now i had chance to get some good branch in new iit and environmental science and mining engineering in IIT ISM Dhanbad. But i chose Environmental Engineering over all those options because of mine interest in research purposes and i wanted to do something for this environmental problems in these world. Also i could get cse in NITS but I chose IIT over NIT because of its tag and future opportunity and i have bo any regret as destiny has chosen me for this.

Faculty members are well educated and well experienced. They also know how to use latest technology for convenient environment. Whole Environment of class is interactive. We have provided 1 faculty member per 12 srudents to help them out of problem related to academic and campus related any facility. Even they sort out personal problems. There are 2 examination per semester one mid semester examination and other end semester examination. Before both there are quiz examination of 10 marks each subjects for internal marking. Weightage of mid semester and end semester examination is 48 & 52 % respectively. Overall level of examination is quite good. All questions are from the material taught by teachees and relevant to the course.

There are gym activities too in our college but nightlife is not so great. We are not allow to leave our hostel after 12 midnight. Nearly all public are closed by 12 p. m. Hostel canteen are open till 2 a. m. We have to in the hostel before midnight but we can easily get entry before 2a.m. Campus in timing is midnight 12 . Hangout places are tea stall canteen and library and parks. Especially ruby garden is famous for couples and nearly all garden are favorite couple spots. But there is enjoy in hostel at night time with doung fun with friends inside hostel.
