Likes
- The professors are very helpful and knowledgeable.
- The campus is pretty good, specifically the new science building. It has a lift although only for staffs. Lots of greenery around. Good laboratories. Purified water is available. It's a girls college. But for post graduation its coed .
- A museum is there. It's the house of the great Raja Rammohan Roy. It's so beautiful.
Dislikes
- The library is not that good . Mostly old version of books are available.
- It's a morning college so class starts from 6.30 am which is quite tough for some people.
- The two buildings are quite afar. You have to walk a good 5/7 minutes.
Course Curriculum Overview
So Physiology is a vast subject with so many opportunities. You can opt for medicine, research or even in academics. I've heard about working in the beauty industry too . The exam difficulty is high. We have so many applied curriculum to help us with the future field.
Fees and Financial Aid
I will be paying around 2500-3000 per semester. So it's around 6000 per year. Admission fees was 5070 for everyone as per my info. There were no registration or lab fees. But we have something called a society copy which is 600 per semester. So 1200 per year. It's compulsory for physiology department. There are some scholarships like swami vivekananda scholarship, Aikayashree and kanyashree. The former two scholarships require 60% marks on your 12th boards. The aikayashree scholarship provides 18000 one time. And for the kanyashree it's 25000 one time if it's the K2 . So, overall it's quite affordable I'll say.
Campus Life
They have sports, freshers, farewell, NAAC visit programs and also some cultural functions are held. Books of all departments are available in the library. Magazines are also available. Sports are very important here . Indoor and outdoor sport are held every year. NCC programs are also here .
Admission
I chose this college because of the subject and since it is a girls college and also love the environment. There are some others college I've applied to but I have changed my mind last-minute because I wanted physiology but I've applied to microbiology to all the other colleges. So I had to choose Rammohan college to be honest. I have also been rejected from some colleges due to having drop year. The admission of my college is through west bengal government portal . They also accept students from stand alone portal . They accept from all the boards exam .
Faculty
The faculty and students relationship is quite good I must say. They're friendly and helpful also very knowledgeable. They are always there to help us. Our HOD is my favorite faculty so far. She's very knowledgeable and considerate. There's no one I don't like. Only a lab assistant is so rude but I don't know his name . It's a 4 years program consisting 8 semester. The course curriculum is mildly relevant.
Night Life
There's a gym in our college but I don't know if available at night. No late night activities. There's a hostel available for students. I don't know if the locality is safe to roam around at night. There's no night life here since it is a morning college.
