No gender discrimination among students or professors.
No raaging happens inside the college campus or the hostel.
Excellent faculty members to guide the students.

Dislikes

Toilets should have been cleaned frequently.
Clerks have to be more active and helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

A very good college to enhance your curriculum. The ground is so large that you can practice football, badminton and cricket there. Very cultural ambience. Only improvement needed in the field of sports and debate.

Class Size: 2Course Fees: INR 10000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no monthly fees. Fees have to be submitted during the admission on the beginning of the session. It's between 900-1000/-. Exam fees are separate. You have to pay 500-600/- for each exam. Fees for the reserved categories are less than that of the general.

Campus Life

There are various annual functions, like freshers, social, annual sports, happen in the college every year. The library is updated enough for the students who need to borrow books. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms is commendable.

Admission

I chose this college because it is the best college in my hometown, Siliguri. And of course, in entire North Bengal, this college has a very remarkable place. One has to score very high to get admission in this college. There is no entrance exam. Admissions are taken place as per the marks in the higher the exam.

Faculty

The best faculty you'll ever get in Siliguri or in the entire North Bengal. The professors are always keen to know the interests of students. The student - teacher ratio is very good. Students have amazing relations with the teachers.

Night Life

There is no gym, cafeteria inside the campus. But you can get a canteen which is very affordable and provide good quality food. There is a big library for both the students and teachers. There are two large hostels, one is for the boys and another is for the girls.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

My college life

I apply for other colleges also as I didn't get much facilities there like comprehensive studying library, canteens facilities, etc. I don't get rejection from the other colleges that I have applied the reasons behind not choosing those is the facilities that I didn't found . The admission process was online; we needed to fill out our details through portals, and there was a specific verification date when we called regarding the verification of our application. After that, if everything was okay, then our admission was confirmed. Then, after a few months, standalone admission was introduced in my college, which helped many students get their pending admission.
