What Students Say
Likes
- It was an all girls college so was very comfortable as there were no boys. It was socially interactive and comfortable to participate in events.
- The facilities that were available like spacious canteen, gymnasium, sports facilities, ncc camp, nss activities, a large auditorium and quality classes.
- The regular events like college fests, blood donation and medical camps, cultural fests, sports day events and workshops related to women empowerment.
Dislikes
- Some infrastructure was not good like the old furniture in classes, the less developed canteen area and no AC in classrooms.
- The long wait and slow procedure of college works like standing in a big line for even a signature or collection of documents.
- Less guidance from college regarding career choices and participation in co curricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
My friends suggested me to join this college based on their experiences and I chose the subject by myself as I had arts in 12th class ad was interested in economics. The curriculum gives a detailed aspect of many topics which helps in government exams. The areas of improvements would be the increased use od technology, better infrastructure faciliities for the students, and proper guidance related to its career options which encourage the students to pursue the course. The exams were conducted twice a year which was pretty good.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid approx 30,000 fees for three years. The fee structure was similar for all the categories. There were different scholarships available for students like Ms. Asha Rani Sethi Memorial scholarship, shri raj kumar grover scholarship, mata amrita nanadamayi scholarship. The amount range is between 30,000 to 50,000rs.
Campus Life
My experience was quite good for 1.5 years like participating in college fest, workshops, cultural events, diwali mela, medical camps etc. There were many books that were available in the library like history books, economics, english, hindi along with other books with the facilities to borrow them for a week. The classrooms had projectors to study. Plus there were different sports and co curricular activities offered like basketball and volleyball competitions, ncc camps, nss activities like cleanliness drives, presidential elections etc.
Admission
I applied for Delhi University in which I got admission, but wanted to get admission in Venketeshwar college of delhi university. As my marks were not that good so i couldn't get admission in it. Instead, i got into kalindi college. The admission procedure was quite simple like filling online application form, getting it attested by college with original documents, and taking admission by paying the fees.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was 1:19. The faculties were easily approachable through emails and phone calls. I liked the economics faculty and the sports faculty as they were always available and no long waits. I disliked the history faculty as there procedure was very slow. Every semester there were 4 exams and they were quite easy. Almost all the students used to clear them but some students faced problems in clearing economics exams. The course curriculum is fully relevant and almost all the topics were being covered by the teachers that used to come in the exams.
Night Life
My favorite hangout spot was the big park outside the college. It had a big lake wherein I used to enjoy with my friends during free time. There was a market nearby which is very famous for its food. There were many PGs for girls in the locality and was very safe at night.
