Dislikes
- The classroom needs improvement like sometimes our mic didn't work and it is very hard to listen to teachers while seating in back benches.
- The hostel for other than ug candidates is not well designed so it needs improvement in infrastructure.
- The mess food is not upto the marks. Sometimes we get hairs in our food. And they put a huge amount of oil in vegetable so it is very unhygienic to consume.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite relevant. The inclusion of fundamental engineering subjects in the initial years builds a strong base. The curriculum includes opportunities for internships and final-year project .

Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of nit Durgapur is quite high compared to other graduation course. In 2024 I took admission in nit Durgapur via josaa /csab counselling. The total fee per semester is over 1 lakh for general/OBC candidates. The tution fee is 62500, caution money is 10000, admission fee is 3500,lab fee is 2000, institute development fee is 2000...etc.For sc/st/family income less than 1lakh the tution fee is voided for them, but hostel and mess fee is compulsory for all students. There are many scholarship you can apply after getting admission like swayam scholarship, nsp etc...

The hostel rooms is nice . For UG candidates we have triple seater rooms . We have provided per person single bed, study table, almirah, and shoe box. The mess menu is average but we have our special dinner on Wednesday where we gets icecream, cold drink and good food compared to usual days. The hostel is affordable and the hostel environment is nice .
Admission
I got admission to NIT DURGAPUR by clearing jee mains exam. After scoring a good percentile in mains I got eligible for jossa and csab rounds. The cutoff in mains went to 93 percentile for general candidates, 79 for OBC and 60 for SC and 46 for ST in 2024. For being eligible for jee mains one should opt for physics, chemistry, maths after class 10 and above 75 percentage in class 12 boards.
Faculty
Our college faculty members is good. The relationship between students and faculty is very healthy. We have two major exams in our semester Midterm exam which consists of 25 marks, end term exam consists of 60 marks, and class assessment which is conducted by teachers in classroom of 15 marks. Apart from this we have lab and viva exams in which we have to perform the experiments done in our classes. The course curriculum is well and relevant. Not many students fail in the exam but yes an average of 20-25 students in a class get supplementary and some of them also get backlog in subject which they are not able to pass.
Night Life
We have gyms, cafeteria for snacks and food.we have a big central library for issuing and reading books. Our hostel in time is 8:30 pm. My favourite hangout place is exploring the campus, roaming in campus streets, visiting chandu chai(cafeteria). We also have two temples in our college campus.
