Course Curriculum Overview

5

Actually, I am preparing for the UPSE and IES exams that's why I chose the civil engineering course. This course is all about the real world because in this course we study the infrastructure and the construction of roads and bridges. The area for improvement is the notes that professors used for the teaching they used old notes they needed to improve this. The exam periods are timely and basic without any delay. The difficulty level of exams is moderate but sometimes professors make some papers difficult which is obvious in IIT.

Internships Opportunities

4

If I talk about Internships every year 600 to 800 students get internships but most of them get an internship in the area of software because in my company most of the software companies like Google, Facebook, Apple, Infosys, and many more. This year the highest pakage from the internship is about 60 lakhs.

Placement Experience

4

If we discuss the campus placements then 4th and 5th year students getting campus placements. The companies that visited our campus are: - Google, Facebook, Infosys, Unacedmey, Apple, Qualcomm, Flipkart, Amazon, Tata Steel, Capital One, and many more. The number of offers made by the company in 2024-2025 is 1165 offers to 950 students. The highest package is 2.14 crore and the average salary is about 25 lakhs per annum. Every year mostly all the students get placed. If I talk about my plans then after getting my degree I prepare for the UPSE and IES exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee which I am paid is about ?1.68 lakh. The tuition fee for SC/ST is zero. The amount they paid is the hostel and the management fee. The fee of my batchmate is ?42240 because he belongs to the SC category. Based on the CGPA Institute giving you the scholarship. The institute has also given you an SC/ST assistantship scholarship on a merit-based.

Campus Life

5

If I talk about the annual festivals then they are: - Illumination Fest held in October or November, Spring Fest is held in January, and Shaurya is held in January. If I talk about the technical festivals then they are:- khistij held in the month of January, and Megalith in the month of October. If we talk about the library of my college it is one of the largest libraries in Asia with thousands of books and enough sitting space available for students. The classroom is well maintained with a smart board available in every classroom. If we talk about how many number students are sitting classroom is 200 for large size class rooms and 80 for small classrooms. If I talk about the sports overview then every sport is available in my college including cricket, football, and hockey ground. For indoor games, a special building is constructed known as a gymkhana. You also join different types of clubs that are run by college students where you get a different type of exposure.

Admission

Actually, I apply for IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, and IIT Kharagpur but I am getting IIT Kharagpur because of the JEE advanced score. I chose this college even though I am getting admitted to some other IITs like IIT Kanpur, IIT Patna, and many more because this IIT average salary is higher than other IITs also the academic curriculum is better than other available colleges. I am only applying for IITs therefore I am not getting rejection from any colleges. If I talking about the admission process then you all basically apply here by your JEE advance score. The cutoffs of the exams vary every year according to how many students appeared in the exam and their performance in the exam. Usually, the cutoff for general category students is under 90-100 marks out of 360. The cutoff for OBC and EWS students is under 80-85 marks out of 360. The cutoff for SC/ST and PWD students is under 40-50 marks out of 360.

Faculty

5

The faculty-to-student ratio in IIT Kharagpur is about 1:17 which is quite good. The relationship between them is good. If students approach the Faculties they help them in every possible way. Some of the faculties that I like most are: -Kousik Deb sir and Nirjhar Dhang sir both teaching styles are awesome and they are more friendly towards the students. I talked to some faculties members which I did not like one of their names is Dr. Pavithra Parthasarathy because the way she teaches us is not so good. She also did not provide us with a sufficient amount of study materials. If I talking about the exam patterns then basically a total of 4 exams are held every semester First is Mid-Sem which is about 30 marks exam, Two class tests are worth about 20 marks each test carries about 10 marks, and End-Sem which is about 50 marks. The 20 marks will vary according to the professors some professors give marks on the basis of attendance and class tests and assignments but most professors give marks on the basis of class tests. Basically, most of the exams are moderate but some exams are difficult very few students fail the exam about 1 to 3 percent only.

Night Life

5

If we talk about the closing time of the gym then at night is at 8:00 clock and in the morning it is 9:00 clock. The closing time of the library is 12 o'clock at night. There were a total of 23 hostels on my campus and every hostel had a different name and the campus is opening for 24 hours. If I talk about some hangout areas then it is the lakeside area and Nehru building and these areas are completely safe areas because they are inside the campus.

I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
