Review of"The King of Eastern NITs -NIT Durgapur".

I am pursuing Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. When I have been studying in class 11th . Idecided to pursue my career in Core Engineering domain. After found my interest in physics. I decided to pursue my career in Mechanical Engineering and then start preparing for joint entrance exam to secure a seat in good government engineering college to boost my academic knowledge in my respective field. Igot admission in NIT Durgapur, which is situated in Durgapur - the industrial city of west bengal. Our college is very well known for mechanical engineering branch. Our college professors are very well knowlegable and passionate towards teaching. Our college has many laboratories related to my domain and also for other branches. I like that our college provide very well opportunities for research enthusiasts. I found my course very interesting for real world applications. My course's knowledge is applied in almost every industry .I 'm very glad that I choose this course. But My course also demands very much attention and hardwork to excell in this field. But sometimes i thought that our college's curriculum are up to date. It lacks in technical education. Our college more works on theoretical knowledge. But College is trying to encourage the technical applications slowly.

Every student from third year you have to apply for internship and check your eligibilty from where you are able to fit in. Our college has a dedicated training and placement cell which helps students to grabs jobs. Currently I am first year student so I can't tell you exactly the procedure but as I heared from our senior that our college provides opportunities for internships at very good companies and provide high internships.

Very famous and renowned companies visits our college in every year examples like Google Facebook Microsoft Amazon Wipro Infosys TCS Flipkart And psus like- Indian Oil ONGC Bharat Petroleum HPCL. Our college placement records can be easily found on our college websites. If we talks about session 2024-25 Highest package offered was 51LPA And average package was 7.35LPA And overall placement percentage was 72percent In 2023 highest package was 70LPA. And placement percentage 72.

Our College has two Annual festival - Aarohan and Rectasy. It is one of the biggest festival in eastern india as a college festival. Our College has central Library which has over thousands of books and crores of e-books which is easily accessible for every students and professors. Our college's every classrooms has well equipped tables and fully functionised Air conditioner and projectors for smart learning. Our college has 20+ clubs which covers almost every single domains of student like Culture Dance Music Literacy Language Industrial knowlege Space knowledge Automobile Creativity Art Photography Nature Social aspects And college faculties are the advisors of this type of clubs. Our college has a dedicated alumni club which is remain in contact with the notable alumni which provide also very much opportunity. Our college has a dediacted sports complex like two playgrounds for football and cricket. And more than 10+ badminton courts Volleyball and basketball courts and also table tennis. Infact our college very well invest on sports also.

Our room consists of three students and one bed, one chair table, one alimarh for every students. And every room has two tubelight and two fans and three study lamps. Our college hostel provide wifi facility which has internet speed upto 100Mbps. Our Hostel has a separate mess hall which has capapcity to feed 400+ students at a single time. And average every hostel lives 700students approx. Our college 's mess food is good not so bad as people thinks that the hostel food is bad. Although I accept that the food is not very tasty but it is very hygenic and made with high quality. Our mess has a special dinner on every wednesday and a sepcial ideal dinner on month's last Wednesday. Registration process for hostel is not so complicated you have go to hostel website which is provided by hostel authority and gave full details related to where we have to give details and pay the fees and then succesfully you have admitted in the hostel. Every student of our college will have to accept hostel to study in this college.

I appeared for Jee mains examination in 2024 . And got 91.7 percentile And belonging to the reserved candidate I am eligible to give jee advanced and got 63 marks. When the counselling starts I created my choice list depending on my marks. I thought that I lower branches on Newer IITs but it had not happen due to higher cutoffs. So after iits i placed older NITS with top branches. In jossa conselling First Mock round I got b. tech in electrical engineering in NIT Hamirpur but i Didn't opt because i don't want to pursue electrical branch and then i changed my preference order and after second mock round i got chemical engineering in NIT Bhopal. Then I completely reasearched about core engineering branches and I thought that I go with Either Chemical or Mechanical Branch. So after second mock round, I made my prefernce order of older nits with chemical and mechanical branch. After 1st seat allotment of jossa I got Mechanical Engineering in NIT Silchar. From 1st to 4th round of counselling I got mechanical engineering in NIT Durgapur. Then i Google about NIT Durgapur. And from many renowned websites including college duniya . I found this college is suitable for me. The admission experience was so smooth. Firstly most of the process done by the jossa and then go the college website to know the physical reporting date and after knowing go to college and all process were very smooth. Overall my college is very good and overall process is smooth as I Found.

Our College faculty are very nice and gentle person. They teach us with very calmness and politely. But in case of marks evaluation they became cruel . They deduct marks for every minor mistake. But overall our faculty were good. My favourite faculty is my maths professor-MD Firoz Ali. I like the way of his teaching. He teaches us with very effecient manner. He is not very rude but if anyone does not maintain class decoram he punish that person very well. There is no one in the college which i disliked every faculty do their job very nicely and complete their syllabus on time. Our college has three type of exam -Mid semester , Class Assesment andEnd Semester. Mid Semester which is of 25 marks for every subject. Class assesment which is of 15 marks for every subject( depending on tecaher -to- teacher). End semester which is of 60 marks for every subject. The difficulty level of exam is so hard But yet if you want to score well you need to study daily. And student to faculty ratio is not so bad it is good. The exam duration is generally one week.

Our college is 100percent safe for girls and boys in day as well as night. Our Campus has many beautiful hangouts place like -Duckpond and Cafeteria. For peace our college has Goddess Kali temple reaching there you find immence peace and happiness. Our college has four cafes and many foodtrucks where you can enjoy delicious foods if you became bored from your hostel food. Our hostel has allowed us entry till 8:30 at night but you can still roam in hostel till 10 pm. Our hostel is full of greenery and peaceful ness. Our college also has fountain in front of Main academic building which is centre of special attraction at the time of festivals. Our college also celebrated many festivals to empower our cultural roots like saraswati pooja and ganesh puja, durgapuja, diwali and holi.
