What Students Say
Likes
- Since the hospital is directly attached to the college itself, students get a much better exposure while handling Patitent. The laboratories house every modern equipment that one could expect. The lecture theatres are fully air-conditioned too
- There are projectors that are attached to every Lecture Theatre and Demo room. Boy to girl ratio is 7:3. The faculties are great and take immense efforts towards the academics of the students.
Dislikes
- The first main drawback of this college is the juniors hostel which is located about 40 mins from the main college campus and that too by bus. I feel the college campus could have been better. Although lot of changes are being done at the moment.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is not really student friendly considering the huge burden of subjects that a student needs to face during final year. In general the bulk of subjects is different from any other course. But if managed properly everybody gets through. I personally feel that there is enough time to study and party both. But a balance should be maintained. The teachers use mainly power point presentations to teach us which is quite interactive.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is same for all. Considering it is a government sponsored college so, there are no management quota based seats. The fees per for each semester is 9000 rupees except for final year where the fees is 13000 rupees. This includes tution fees, lab fees and everything under academics. The only extra thing that students need to pay for are logbooks for each subject but that too till 3rd year. The hostel fees are 12 rupees only. There are scholarships for Muslim students who belong from economically backward groups. This scholarship is sponsored by the government only. There are no hidden charges as such unlike other private colleges.
Campus Life
The campus life is okayish I would say. Specially because Rampurhat is a town. There are no cinema halls as of now and very few sources of recreation. Since, it's a comparatively new college there are no clubs as of now but one of best things is our Fest that is hosted every year by the students themselves.
Hostel Facilities
The juniors hostel is very spacious. However extensions are being done to the hostel of the main campus to shift every batch to the main campus. Rooms are enough to accommodate 2 people but 4 people manage. I personally stayed in the hostel during my initial days but shifted to a flat later on. It depends from student to student on how you can adjust
Admission
The marks I had in NEET 2020 got me to choose between 3-4 colleges. But I personally chose Rampurhat because it was comparatively near to where I live and there is ample connectivity. The college I had got admitted to at first, I applied for an upgradation and then was allotted this college. If there is an upgradation then the admission process becomes very hectic because you'll have to collect your documents from your previous college and head over to the new one within a day. But in general the admission process is smooth and our seniors were there to guide us through the process
Faculty
Technology speaking the number of facilities vary from department to department. Pathology haa more than 10 faculties while biochemistry has 3-4. However, the teachers are extremely cooperative and approachable. There are 3 semesters per year and one final Professional examination at the end of each year that decides whether the student will get promoted to the next year or not. In the semesters, theory is of 100 marks and practical of 50-100 marks depending on the department. In the Professional examinations, each subject is of 2 papers 100 marks each for theory except Paediatrics and FMT and practical is of 100 marks. Since, the semester papers are set by the college itself so, the level is moderate to difficult depending upon the students preparation level. I personally feel that the curriculum should be changed because the time vs the number of subjects in final year is absolutely a mismatch. Although everybody copes up at the end
Night Life
Honestly speaking you should not keep high expectations because although the hostel remains active throughout the night, but the rest of the town sleeps by 8/8:30pm. Another drawback is that the library closed by 5:30 although there are study rooms being made but still it is a drawback I would say. Rampurhat has immensely developed throughout these years mainly because of the college itself. There are cafeterias nearby which are pretty great. Quite a number of big retail shops like Trends, V2 etc for people who like shopping and all
