Course Curriculum Overview

3

IGNOU provides almost every type of courses students wants but you have to do self study for them but also those subjects classes are easily available on YouTube and IGNOU Weekend classes starts after 6 months of your admission so it's better you should start studying for it yourself, examination result is always delayed and re checking fees is also high it needs improvement, exam timings are good they let you enter even if you are late 5-10 minutes cause of traffic. IGNOU exams are so difficult it's hard to pass sometimes.

Fees and Financial Aid

My programme is Ba psychology hons. And it's fees was 5500 per years, it's 3 year programme quite affordable. If we include examination and practical exam fees it's 200,300 per subject. And we have to submit handmade assignment also which mostly cost us making 500-700rs including sheets and envelope for submission. IGNOU is best for students who are struggling with money problem it provides so many subjects and courses at very affordable prices.

Campus Life

4

IGNOU does have its own campus students only visit it to take certificates and documents etc. yes IGNOU does have their groups which helps students in completing assignments and provides last year question papers for exams.

Admission

First I got admission in DU ba history hons. But didn't liked the course and I wanted to do psychology hons. Without wasting my time so I got admission in January session in 2024 for me course has always been my priority not the university.

Faculty

Some faculty members are nice and some are rude to you for no reason once I went to submit my assignment in my study centre "Jesus and Mary College" I just asked him where to submit it he started shouting for no reason "get out" then i searched it by myself and the sir who was taking the was better than earlier one he helped me in submission of assignments

Night Life

4

IGNOU students can select any college as their study centre so we all like our cafeteria, liberary and all things cause we get to choose any college we want to study in the weekends it's hard to make friends since it's a distance university

Placement Experience:

Since I am from Arts deparemt, there were not much options and I did not sit in the placements I cannot say much about it here. Although there were seminars related to differents fellowship options such as Gandhi fellowship, Texah for India. Some people from my department got in them and they are doing fine as of now so yes there are option once your are in the campus you'll get to know about them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My Economics syllabus and the professor is amazing. They explain everything in detail and they are really very open to criticism as well The exam level is actually medium. Since, our professors prepare us in attempting them easily. Practice sessions are worth devoting time in.

Placement Experience:

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for my course, economics hons. , I would say is very relevant to our day to day life. The curriculum set by the university doesn't focus only on indian economics but economies through out the world. The suggested books are also the top books used in many international top universities. The curriculum provides us with a lot of real world applications through various case studies. For exams the delhi university guidlines are followed and I would say now the exams are based on more of practical usage and how materials taught in class are applied in real life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum overall as 7/10 for relevance, and 6.5/10 for comprehensiveness. The curriculum included practical / lab / workshop components, which promised hands?on experience. That was a big factor for me. I felt that I wouldn’t just learn theory, but also get to apply it. It offered some electives or optional subjects, so there is some flexibility to explore interests outside the core. The syllabus was fairly up?to?date in many subjects: courses include contemporary topics (to some extent) and recent tools or methods. It also seemed designed to allow further academic pursuit: good coverage of fundamentals makes it possible to do postgraduate work.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really average in our college. Students become eligible mostly from 3 rd year only but there are also placement opportunity for 1st and 2nd year as well but less than 3rd years. Hike edu, Kpmg they visited this year only. Kpmg came to hire only bcom and bcom h students. The highest average package offered till now is 600000. 10% students get the placement I think it's not about the college because they can only bring the companies the interview and gd round is upto the students they have to clear it by themselves. I want to work in banking sector I will be trying to clear banking exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like any other course this course too has its pros and cons. It is very different from the fictional or non-fictional books you read. One must have an interest for English language as it has no grammar. It's just the language portion that will be taught.
