Course Curriculum Overview

4

I came to this college by chance. For my batch it was 2019 scheme. According to me that scheme was not relevant. Syllable and curriculum was not enough to get a simple base. But now 2024 scheme is introduced, it is little mpre developed syllabus. It teaches students base from first year.

Internships Opportunities

3

In electrical department one of company which offer internship with stipend is Siemens. Many of our students go for internship outside mainly to southern railway PALAKKAD. Stipend amount is average of 25000/-

Placement Experience

3

From s6 onwards students can appear for placement. Most common companies visited include tcs, Siemens, cognizent, ibm, ipa etc. For CS and IT there are many opportunity but for other branches there are competitively low opportunities. Average highest package is 400000. Percentage of students getting placement is 50%. My plan after getting placement is to achieve higher position in same company

Fees and Financial Aid

GEC Palakkad offers affordable B.Tech fees of ~14000/year, with slight variations yearly. Scholarships include E-Grantz (2,000/month), Pragati (50k/year), MCM, and AICTE schemes, reducing financial burden. Tution fee is 6300/- and exam fees is around 3600/-. For all four years. And other miscellaneous fees.

Campus Life

5

I am an active member of nss and IEEE so about social aspects and club involvement i am. Very much impressed by the college. There are many other clubs like iste etc. Name of college arts festival is daksha which include cultural events. Another event is invento wjich is conducted once in two year. About library facilities include many books for reference, library facilities are so good. College union conduct arts and sports competition every year

Admission

I have applied for gec thrissur and vollege of engineering trivandrum. But according to my rank it was not enough to get admission there. In some college i was rejected because i was under general category. Admission process include keam exam, admission paper submitting and got admission.

Faculty

5

Faculty to students ratio is 1:4. Faculty students ratio is very Good. They are very helpful and understanding. Best faculties which i felt good is vineetha miss our ex hod. She helped me in every phase of my college life. There are two internals and one main exam in each semester. Exams are easy when we have a base and study a little. The no. Of students failed in exam will depends on stydents. Some students Doesnt study much, are lazy so they fail. About vourse curriculum, it us very relevant according to me

Night Life

5

I am a day scholar. So don't have much opportunity to explore night life in college. College do have gym canteen library ladies and mens hostel etc. Closing time of every thing is 9:30pm My favourite hangout place is nearby cafe named leafy dine.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
