EXPERIENCE IN GEC

Our curriculum is the worst. Nothing to do with real life. we are just studying to get marks and no practical knowledge. actually 1sem is 5 months and 1 month exam. but our 2025 batch get only 3 months for a sem and 1 month for exam. We are completing for 4year program in less than 3and half months. KTU is the worst.

there is no internship provided by the college. we can search and apply outside which has to be approved by the college . i have done an internship under KSEB for 5 days at Malankara substation, idukki. there is no stipend provided but we have to pay a small fee that is worth of

my college is providing campus placement but mostly in IT company and software companies. Any branch students can apply it but most of the students are interested to do the core job. it is difficult to get the job what you studied. From sem 7 campus placement starts. companies cam during 2024 include TCS,Infosys, Saint Gobains, LandT, LTImindtree, igniterium. cognizant. sobha constructions.,mitsogo, deltax, JSW, Anora, waferspace,MRF,walkaroo, accenture and many more. Highest package includes 21L per annum and average package is 3LPA

we are paying sem wise...not year wise. and its almost around 9000. There is no management seat since this is government college and tuition fees os completely free for reserved categories like OEC,SC and ST.

GEC have a lot of clubs which includes NSS, OASIS, IEEE, ideator, film society etc Dyuthi is the annual tech fest but only conducting with a gap of 2 years . it is 4 day program there is large library at the centre of college and also branch wise library at each department Everyone class is having a projector but many of them are not in good working condition sportd are conducted evry year and we have a large ground where students and outsiders practice daily

there is 5ladies hostel. food is very bad . fees is very low. only maximum of 2300 per month. free wifi is there but always complaint water water is also there somtimes current also absent there is lot of PG available nearby but it costs minimum 5000 per month

I opted this college because it is government so no much money have to be paid and it is having better placements compared to other colleges and is also located in my home district so that i can go home and have time with family. I didnt apply for any other colleges because of these features ,no other colleges can provide this I looked for model engineering college for spot admission but my rank was bit less to get seat Eligibility criteria includes passing KEAM exam. Its actually an exam and anyone can crack it.

There is minimum 70 students in a class and there is almost 2 bathes for each branch. Most of the faculties do not care anything .we can do whatever we like. To be honest there is no one teacher that i like and dislike because there is no connection between students and teachers. series exam are conducted twice a sem for adding internals and a final sem exam at the end of each sem. Difficulty of series exam depends on the faculty and sem is moderate but the valuation is poor. most of the subjects are outdated and have no use in our professional life.

gym is there but no trainers. so students prfer to go outside gym library is working till 4pm and have a lot of books mens hostel have no curfew and ladies hostel is 9.30pm students usually make night out and walk around the campus
