Course Curriculum Overview

5

I've decided to pursue a BE in computer science because of the demand in the market. This branch is the foundation for most of the jobs out there. As I'm planning on MS studies abroad in aerospace engineering, this is the best foundation course. This branch could be more engaging if there were real-life applications included instead of rote learning and exams, as people like me pursue the degree for experience purposes. The exam timetable is not flexible this year compared to my seniors, as there were some issues with the KCET and COMEDK results. The exams are rushed altogether, and the syllabus is vast. Instead of exams, colleges can let students attend paid internships as well as unpaid ones to get real-life experience and find their interests.

Internships Opportunities

5

A senior of mine has landed an internship in google and Microsoft .Ive decided to do my internships in ISRO are I'm obliged towards that field. We are told that internships starts from 3 year and we are allowed to get experience from 2nd year if possible

Placement Experience

5

As I'm a fresher I'm told that placements are average I.e.,12LPA average .As the students in my batch have increased there will be a fight for jobs.Im planning to work for a year for experience and then pursue my masters in Australia or Europe .If I get placed in any foreign companies ,like Japan ,I'd work for half a year and proceed with my plan

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for kcet students is Rs 1.7L ,for students -Rs 4.5Land for management seats the donation varies according to the seat availability .It varies from rs.5-9L .Scholarships are currently to be applied after the VTU registration .

Campus Life

5

I'm currently in 3 clubs: one is badminton, and the others are the art and media club. The intercollege competitions for cultural clubs are yet to be conducted, but I have won the championship in the intercollege badminton match. The library is available on weekdays with study rooms. The booms are available to students with membership cards, and the money will be refunded back.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel fees are pretty expensive if seen through the number of people sharing a room. It's a four-sharing room, and the rooms are small. There's a bunker on top of the study table and an attached bathroom. The meals are good. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus are available. But 22k rs is expensive.

Admission

I had applied for colleges through KCET and COMEDK but didn't participate in counseling because of my 12th percentage. I've come here through the management quota. Students must have passed their 12th and should have written entrance exams for eligibility for this college.Cutoffs were very high this year and hence couldn't get a seat till the 2nd round in COMED K. The admission process is ok, but the resume entry and VTU registration were rushed. The management wasn't clear with students, and some of the students admissions were cancelled as per the reports. Overall, the admission process was a roller coaster.

Faculty

4

The faculties are average to great. Some of them are new to the field and need to get some experience. The physics faculty, Dr. Madhusudhana, is great at his subject. He is the coordinator of NCC, and his teaching is loved by everyone. The cybersecurity professor is kind of hard to approach and understand. The exams are pretty easy compared to the 12th CBSE boards. The marking scheme of subjects varies from one professor to another. Programming becomes easy for people who know the basics, and the teacher evaluates very strictly. Hence, comparatively, the internals are easy. Yet to know about end sem exams.

Night Life

3

As I'm a hosteller, I'm supposed to be back to the dorm by 7.30pm. It's excusable if we have to catch a late-night train or flight. It's pretty strict for girls compared to boys. Cafeterias and food trucks are available on the campus. It's good on the campus as it's safe and enjoyable.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
