What Students Say
Likes
- The whole campus is not so big but still big enough to walk around and chill when there is no class
- The faculties are all nice except some of them don't genuinely know how to teach.
- There is a huge ground where you could play football volleyball ball or even cricket
Dislikes
- One or two teachers are actually very bad at teaching and have a bad attitude and brings the whole mode of the class down
- The new principal almost conducts classes on every Saturday's
- The food at the hostel sometimes is very bad, and I skip sometimes
Course Curriculum Overview
This curriculum does not prepare for real-world applications that much as per my view and perspective. Some brilliant students might get placed in huge companies and stuff. The rest usually get placed at call centres and other small jobs. The timing of the university calender is very tight. The first 2 sems of my curriculum was actually a course of 12 months which was conducted over a duration of 8 months.
Internships Opportunities
There are not much of internships as of now because Im in second year right now. But still there are some internships that were conducted. Some company conducted an internship for our whole batch. The internship was about HTML5 and python. It was a 1 week internship. There were not much of projects and it was just to teach us of the basics of the subject or language. The certificate had a value it might be helpful for taking online jobs. We had to pay them money for taking the internship. After this there were no internships up until now
Fees and Financial Aid
I have taken the NRI seat of the college and the Year wise fees I pay is around 115000 Rs including the tution fee and other expenses for college. There is a 50000 Rs deposit that has to be made if you want to block a seat. Each Semester there is a 2000 Rs development fee while you register for the next Semester with the total registration fee around 53625 Rs. My batchmates have all taken different seat quotas and therefore everyone pay different fees for each semester. Management quotas have same fees as NRI's. Merit seats however have yearly fees around 40000-50000 depending on their category, leaving the total fees for the whole course be around 200000
Campus Life
The campus life is very nice. Because every students and seniors and faculties sometimes join up and conduct random programs. But not as frequent as government colleges. Every even or odd sems there will be tech fest's which is the greatest program our college conducts. It has many program including concerts of famous artists and car meets. Yearly there will be sports day and arts day conducted at the college ground itself dividing the whole college into 4 groups and gives a trophy to the winning group. The whole campus life is great as of the time I have spent
Hostel Facilities
The college that I stay in is outside the college campus. This hostel is better than that in the college campus because the hostel in college campus has only few bathrooms for each floor but our hostel has bathroom for each room. In my room there are 6 people. The college due to lack of space, accommodated our batch of students in this hostel outside of the college campus. This hostel is around 1.2km outside of the college campus. There is not much of a registration process. There was a form to fill and 4000Rs to pay and that was. Almost everyday at night we get non-veg but every Sunday night we get porridge. Every afternoon we have rice and sambhar with pappadam and some other side dish
Admission
This college was the only one I paid the deposit money for. The rest of the college's I applied for rejected my application. Well my current college has very cheap course fees compared to the ones's I applied before even thought the faculties and infrastructures are a bit old fashioned it can managed. If you want to join first you have to block a seat if there is one available and pay the deposit money. You could also get commission for others joining the college with your name as reference. There are no eligibility exams conducted while registration. The total admission process was faster than I expected
Faculty
The college lack of teachers but they still manage it somehow. It puts huge pressure on the faculties as they have to take more than 4 or 5 classes continuously without rest. The students are heavily packed with the new first years as there is a total of 240 1st years and the total btech batch including all the years have around 500 students. The college according to the university, conducts 2 internal exams each semester with a total of 16 exams for 8 sems. The HOD of the computer science department is a great teacher as she helps us students in every problem we face of we seek help. There is one teacher that I don't like his name is saini soman. This teacher don't give a damn about us students because one of my classmates took a 1 month leave because of an accident. The teachers usually give the attendance as it is a genuine reason for taking leave. Even though it is genuine this teacher wouldn't give my classmate attendence and now he have to write the supplementary paper for his subject
Night Life
There is not much of a nightlife in the campus as the the hostel doors are closed after 7 o clock for boys hostel and 6 o clock for girls hostel. Although if there is a fest coming up at the college the night before that day all the hostelers except the girls hostel gather to decorate the whole college and ready the stage. The rest of the time the wardens won't allow us to go out the college campus after the curfew. There is a gym in college that is functioning but not much of the students use it as everything was rusty. The centre of the college campus is usually the best hangout spot or the canteen is also good. The location is almost very secluded and getting out from the college at night is not a good idea as there are no shops or any sort of street shop or food available around a radius of 3km from the college. Although it is safe to Rome around
