Likes

Here, library is a peaceful place to study
Our departments for engineering are really great
Our university has a very pretty campus and thus our campus is known as NAHOROR DEKH

Dislikes

The toilets are not cleaned on a regular basis
Canteen food is not up to mark and the prices are too high
Hostels need to be renovated quickly and a proper study environment should be provided

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is designed based on what students prefer to study in every semester. Thus they are also provided with internships which will help in the future. The students study on the basis of what is required to study.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are really great here. Social, academic and industrial internships are compulsory for evrry engineering student as it will help the students to apply for jobs in the future. Teachers guide us for these opportunities.

Placement Experience

For our mechanical branch, there are job opportunities. And when it comes for corporate jobs, students are selected on the basis of skill based and not on the basis on marks. Private as well as public job opportunities come for placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Our course fee for one year is 1 lakh and therefore since my course duration is 4 years, thus I have to pay 4 lakhs. Since I don't belong to any category, thus i am not avail to any scholarship opportunities.

Campus Life

Here the great thing about our university is that it has a really pretty campus. People are very warm here. Everyone treats everyone equally. Sports and fests also happen. Our university also focuses on social aspects.

Hostel Facilities

The facilities provided in the hostel are really great. In our hostel room, one table is provided for every student. The meal quality is good but not great. The fees for our hostel is cheap. Three tubelights are provided in each room.

Hostel Fee: INR 1900 per year

Admission

Here job opportunities are really great and also my home is not far away. I have heard really good things about this college. Therefore my father told me to apply in this college as i would get better job opportunities and her mechanical branch is great.

Faculty

The faculty members are really great. They provide proper notes for which it becomes really easy for the students to study. They guide us with a warm behaviour. Practicals are Done with proper care. Every student is treated equally by every professor.

Night Life

The nightlife is great. The campus is safe. Students can enjoy the night view. Hangout places are also there. Students can chill around wherever they like. The locality is really safe to roam around at night.

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.
