Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi College was established in 1945 and it is affiliated to Dibrugarh University. The DHSK College, originally named the Dibrugarh College, later on came to be renamed after its donors as Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College in 1957. The total land area in possession of the college is 16.61 acres. The College has in total twenty departments of which 12 nos. are in Arts and 8 nos. in Science streams respectively. It is recognized by UGC under section of 2(f) and 12(b). The College has been accredited by NAAC.

Library	The central library of the college has more than 40,000 books and subscribes to 11 journals, 9 magazines, bulletins etc. The library houses a reference room with around 10,000 books. The Library is computerized It uses Soul 2.0 software and Barcode reader printer & Scanner which is utilized for issue of library books N-list program facility is also available from this library
Hostel	The college has one girls’ hostel situated within the college campus The three storied building has well furnished rooms and has the capacity of accommodating about 100 boarders.
Computer Lab	There are twenty computers of latest configuration Broadband Wi-fi internet facility is available
Auditorium	The beautiful building of the Lal Chand Kanoi Auditorium is situated near the main college building The spacious sound proof auditorium with a well-set stage has a capacity of seating more than 500

Honest review about my college life

Likes

I like the faculty of the physics department because they are very helpful
I like the environment of the college because it is very different then any other colleges
And my most favourite place inside the college campus is the saraswati mandir which is very unique inside a college

Dislikes

I dislike that the students roam freely bunking their college classes
I dislike the people in the administrative council because sometimes they behave very rudey
I dislike the thing that they delay a lot of important eork

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

I have been influenced by my seniors to take this course because they have said that the faculty of this department is really really good. So that's the reason i had decided to choose this course. And I don't regret taking this course

Total fees of the course per semester

I have paid 7,400 for the 1st semester. The tuition fees is 7,400. The registration fees is 430. The lab fees is 1000. The id card fees is 50. The development fees is 100. The IQAC fees is 150. The soft skill fees is 200

Various sports, events and library of the college

I haven't explained any kind of functions yet because as the time hasn't come to celebrate the festivals. The are all kind of books amd journels available in the library. The facilities and technological provision are also advance in every classroom. There arr many sports that are played in the college campus like cricket, football, badminton,basketball etc. And there are many extracurricular activities as well. No there is no student run social groups, clubs, or student portal.

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

The relationship between the faculty to students arr really good. The faculties are very much approachable because they are always ready to help the students even in their free time. The name of the faculty I would not like to announce it publicly because of some privacy issues and I'll also not take of the faculty I didn't like because of the same reasons. There are 2 sessional exam during one semester and 1 final exam at the end of the semester. They are not that hard if the students study well. There are only 5-10 students that didn't pass the sessional and I don't know about the final exam because we have just finished on 19/12/2024

What is the admission process of the campus?

I had applied in Dibrugarh University, B.borooah college, JB college and many other colleges. I had got a confirmed admission from JB college. I had choosen this college over the others because of the environment of the college. Yes I have been rejected from other colleges as well because I didn't have the cutoff to take admission in those colleges. The eligibility to get admission to this college is above 60%.

Various facilities available in the campus

The head of the college is building the gym inside the campus. There are 2canteen and 1 cafe inside the college campus. The public are closed is at 7pm. The hostel in timing is 7pm and the campus intiming is also 7pm.

The real reason behind the admission in Dibrugarh hanumanbox surajmal kanoi is the name and fame of the college. This college is one of the famous college in Dibrugarh which I heard before from my seniors and also from my some villagers. The admisson process is also simple not so complicated . Overall it's all perfect college.

Firstly ,the most beautiful thing is about its campus .The campus of my college is full of greenery and it utmost clean. It is one of the cleanest college in Northeast India.Not a single waste can be seen inside the college campus.Its mesmerizing.
Secondly ,the study environment is utmost beautiful.The faculties provide there hardwork to serve for the welfare of the people.There is a very beautiful library for the students which inculcate everyone to go and read books.
Thirdly, the cultural environment is very mesmerizing. It helps for the overall development of the student as individual. The sports activities are also played which keeps the students fit and healthy.

Dislikes

The infrastructure has to be developed more as compared to other colleges.In some classrooms the fans are not working or the lighting is slightly disturbed so it has to be checked.
Though the college is very active culturally but sometimes it hampers the study time also. As students participation is utmost important but sometimes it does some waste of time to some extent as engagement in activities increases.

Admission:

1. Honestly I wanted to apply for this college as because of reside on dibrugarh so I wanted to go to a college in dibrugarh so by the grace of God I got to read in this college. I heard a lot of things about this college from everyone including my parents and even grandparents which made me to choose this college and it is active culturally and academically. 2. I didn't got kind of rejection but I didn't wanted to make it to other colleges as I live with my mother and brother in dibrugarh so I didn't wanted to leave them and go to other place so I want to get into a college in dibrugarh. This is the reason. 3.So regarding the admission process it is under merit based so no exams are conducted.Only the percentage of H.S is seen and accordingly if the percentage is upto the cutoff mark given by the college then admission is confirmed otherwise if the percentage is below the cutoff then admission can't be taken .For science stream cut offs are usually more i.e 70 percent and above and for arts stream it is slightly less.

The DHSK College

Admission:

I applied in other colleges such as dibru college, digboi college, dibrugarh University, gauhati university etc. My 1st option was I really wanted to study in dibrugarh University but for my poor grades in my HS exam I couldn't make it . So I prefer dhsk college at spot admission and I got selected for major in chemistry which I wished to. My college admission were through samarth portal which was based on merit list of the HS exam. To get admission in dhsk college, the student must have a qualified HS marksheet with good grades. My experience was very lucky because there was only one seat available in my course. So I am really happy to get admission in dhsk college and now I am trying my hard to improve my studies.

Likes

Classrooms are quite large and well equipped with all learning amenities. The seating in the classrooms is comfortable and modern and students, including I did not face any discomfort during classes. Also, construction is going on for expansion

Admission:

Firstly, the college is quite reputed in the region of Upper Assam and Northeast. This college is situated in the town of Dibrugarh and is well connected to the other parts of the town via rickshaw and auto.

I applied for North lakhimpur and kanoi college but I got confirmation in kanoi college I choose the kanoi college because I want to study in city area and I like the clg environment and also kanoi college gives you many opportunities in sports and in studies . I didn't got admission in North lakhimpur because of my low percentage . You can apply in samarth portal and also you can get spot admission. Above 50 percent you can get admission in kanoi college neet and other college

You can apply to Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi (DHSK) College without taking the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) exam. DHSK College does not require CUET for admission to its undergraduate or postgraduate programs
