Course Curriculum Overview

I was already from a commerce background and the next option for me was B.Comm. G.S. Lohia College is the best commerce college in Tinsukia and thus I opted for it. Also, various events are held throughout the year which made me choose the college.

G.S. Lohia College is a commerce college based in Tinsukia affiliated under Dibrugarh University. The annual fees of the college is around ?25000 including the exam fees. It is the best commerce college in Tinsukia.

Campus Life

There are various events held in the college Vista: Our annual farewell event held in the month of September Enfete: Annual college fest held in the month of January Meraki: Organised by the NSS club of G.S. Lohia college Aikyam: Organised collectively by Eco and Red Ribbon club There are three clubs in our college namely NSS, Red Ribbon and Eco club

Admission

I did mot apply for any other college besides this one because moving out was not an option for me due to personal reasons. Thus, G.S. Lohia college was the next best option for me. In order to be eligible, you just have to score 60% above in 12th boards.

Faculty

There are 6 professors in the college and the approximate number of students is 200. The college conducts 2 internal examinations and 1 semester examination. The curriculum is fairly updated. Around 95% tend to pass examinations.

Night Life

There's no night life in our college as college hours end at 12.15pm. But we did have hangout spots like the canteen and a library. We also had a dance studio and an auditorium which would be perfect hangout places during break.

Placement Experience:

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

Course Curriculum Overview:

The facilities are too good in that area , this college is reputed since my parents young age . All the teachers are well educated in those subjects, they even wrote books we can get from Amazon, they are experienced teachers.

Placement Experience:

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

Assam University is a good University

Placement Experience:

The placements are okay okay. Not very good companies come to recruit students of final year. Only MBA students get a high package salary in a good company. Other departments don't get these much of placements as compared to MBA.

I appeared in IIT JAM exam but i could not make a good result from it to take admission into IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT BHU and others. So, I have to remain in this University.
