Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course and subjects are well designed and according to NEP it has been made much more easier for students to study. Even if you are preparing for any competative exam or other things you will get time after college to do so if you manage your time well

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships are provided by tata as it is situated in walking distance. You can do intership with stipends and if wanting to be in corporate you can also opt for full time work. Opportunities are available so no issues with that.

Placement Experience

3

Talking about the placement opportunities I have no such opinions as per being h Bsc students. But intership opportunities are great as the college lies in the main area where companies like tata steel, emami are situated in walking distance. So if placements miss by chance you still have opportunities. And being honest here placements now a days are solely based on your skills neither mainly on college or sources.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a bsc botany (H) student, and my semester wise fee structure is approx 25000(it can carry from 22000 to 25000 depending on your semester). So roughly it will vary from 180000 to 200000 all total.

Campus Life

5

There are various events taking place in college so you have to be very attentive and be in touch with seniors to know about every event details. The library is well equipped with enoug academic books and you can issue them and raad them so no need to buy from outside. The class are well cleaned and equipped with AC with smart board and presentation facilities. Sports club is very active and if you want to be a part of the sports department even if you are a fresher and want to learn new sports seniors are very helpful and will teach you everything.

Admission

If you know anyone in Kolkata and of you ask them how is Shri shikshayatan college they will definitely say it is a good college academically and for most extends it is true. So academically it is a good college to study so I opted this for a general graduation over over private colleges. I opted for other govt. Colleges like BHU,AU but due to 5-10 mark and me being in general category got rejected there so in order to not waste my precious year I opted to go for a decent but reputed college for completing my general graduation so I could focus on my competition exams and dream of being a entrepreneur. The admission process is solely based on your 12th marks which for me were very good as I got 88% and a good score of 95 in biology which was crucial for botany course. So I got addmission very easily here.

Faculty

5

Ok so the BA and BSC ,BBA department the strength is quite good it's average approx 40 student in every class so teachers student interaction is good. That means if you will skip class without a proper reason teacher will remember your face????but teachers are good and helpful . Attendence is not a big deal yeah it's imp but not that hyped.

Night Life

5

The surrounding of the college is very good as it lies in the main road area so hospitals, ground, halls, libraries, offices , transport facilities ,food availablity are easily accessible. Metro, buses, autos, taxis are easily available.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.
