Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As my CUET score wasn't that much high but I want to opt for computer related field in my higher studies so I choosed this course. Faculty of this college is very cooperative and unlike rumours you have heard of that college teacher don't teach anything, come to ANDC it will change your perspective. As I'm in first year I can't say anything about the exams but what I can say is that it is medium level of difficulty if you have studied enough.

Internships Opportunities

4

Students can pursue summer internships with faculty members at ANDC. Some examples of summer internship projects include: Isolation and cluster classification of Mycobacteriophages from soil samples Survey of prevalence of Diabetes in college going youth of Delhi NCR Effects of Lantana camara weed extract on the survival and midgut histoarchitecture of Aedes aegypti L. ANDC also has a number of other programs and facilities, including: Entrepreneurship Laboratory (EL) Established in 2013, EL provides a space for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills and set up small enterprises.

Placement Experience

3

Our college now have a placement cell in which there are 3 vertical:- tech, medical, commerce that helps students secure internships and job placements, which is an important factor for many undergraduates.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee in this college is very low in comparison to other college and don't think it is because of poor facilities but it is due to our college is funded by government. My first year fee was 9915, second year was 8915 and third year fee is 13224. You can get various scholarships according to the course you have opt, one of them is Teena Gupta Memorial scholarship,SAKSHAM Student aid for fellowship, Savitri Singh scholarship and the list goes on.

Campus Life

3.5

Leiothrixx is the name of annual fest here in ANDC. In previous it was held in the month of April. In library, you can find your almost every course related reference books ( more than 2 copies) And our library is equipped with RFID management system. In our college you can participate in various indoor and outdoor games like football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, chess, carrom, table tennis, badminton and more. A group of student have established their start-up inside our college BookWithUVA which is growing well.

Admission

Eligibility of this course is that applicant should have passed 12th class from recognised board. From year 2022 application are made via CSAS counseling that uses the score of CUET examination, in this exam you have to select mathematics with 2 other subjects (that you have studied in your 12th class) and obtain score to get admission here. After giving CUET you have to apply for CSAS counseling that control the process of admission in DU. CSAS portal will show you the alloted college and course as per as your marks and preference list. Students of category SC/ST/OBC/EWS get both relaxation on fee and marks criteria. It would be great if they can handout the information about preference list so students can analyse the data and choose courses wisely while filling the form.

Faculty

4

I can tell you the faculty reputation of some of the departments of ANDC is above any top-ranked North campus college. North Campus profs will look up to you with expectations. They know where you come from. ANDC has a disciplined environment with lots of opportunities in theatre & DST-funded research labs. You can approach Faculties involved in projects as a research assistant. I have seen a few who even published a research paper alongside their BSc. It’s an extraordinary task and obviously needs a multitasking & dedicated mind. Prof. Amit Garg, Gaurav Sharma, Priti Mam, Monika mam are some of the best faculty I've met.

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

The curriculum of my course BSc honours physics is pretty good and it provides sufficient informations in theory classes and practical labs are maintain good and teachers are actively participate in the practicals with the students to teach them more about this course. The frequency of the timing is difficult I can say that because it has many theory classes and on everyday due to which the students can't focus on the subjects and regular activities other than main course.
