- Campus is quite big. Almost 600acres of land.
- Ragging is completely banned here. All first year students(boys) are kept in a separate hostel.
- I like the market inside the University campus
Dislikes
- Although campus is big much of the space is unused
- The meal in hostel is not that good, it is just edible
- Facilities are not well that maintained in the campus
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is really well designed. As I am just a fresher so i have no idea how the curriculum will influence in the future. But the curriculum includes problem solving skills and programming languages so i hope it will help me in the future.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available bere. Students get to do internships in OIL, ONGC, NRL and colleges like AEC,JEC , Tezpur University, IITG, etc I do not have information about stipend as i have just taken admission here
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements after 5th semester. Many companies visit here every year. Companies like ONGC, NRL, BCPL come to this college for the mechanical and petroleum department. I plan to prepare for GATE. Also will try for campus interview
Fees and Financial Aid
Admission fees - Rs 10645 First sem to third sem - Rs 50000 Fourth sem to last sem - Rs 40000 Various kinds of scholarships are provided for the underprivileged students. Scholarships like Ishan Uday, Nijut Moina, and other scholarships from NSP portal are provided.
Campus Life
Various festivals and sports tournaments are held every month. The annual sports festival Vercity Week is the most anticipated The central library is very big and has lots and lots of books and magazines Student run groups like robotics club, coding are available here.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel wifi is available. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Meal quality is nice. But most students skip lunch as it is not that good You need to register for hostel during admission process or enquiring with the chief warden Hostel is affordable
Admission
I was allotted a seat in other colleges like JEC, BVEC and Gauhati University I opted for this college because I did not get my desired branch in the other colleges To get admission here, you need to clear either JEE or CEE(Combined Entrance Exam) Assam and apply for the counselling process.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is quite good. It is 1:51 All the faculties are quite friendly and approachable. So i like all of them. There was just one sessional exam thus year. The exams are not that difficult but you need to study
Night Life
A gym and various sports facilities are available here There are five cafeterias here There is no specific timing for hostel for boys but we usually return to our rooms by 9pm Many famous hangout spots are there in campus.
