Course Curriculum Overview
All the courses are relevant to my subject and in terms of building your ethic for future work and healthy work conditions. We are given enough practical exposure technical courses such as computer programming, workshops, engineering chemistry labs, electrical labs etc. Even the equipment in the lapse is high tech and up to date. I felt overwhelmed by 7 mandatory courses for my first semester. But thats the only con in my opinion. All material is provided by faculties. Difficulty of exams is moderate with abojt 50% easy questions, 40% medium and 10% challenging problems. Frequency of classes is also high and method of teaching of most faculties is amazing. They teach with good enthusiasm.
Internships Opportunities
I havent currently been offerend any internships since it is my first year. But from what i hear, seniors are given ample internships at various companies for crucial work experience. Most are unpaid. Some extraordinarily students are paid 5k to 20k.
Placement Experience
5th semester, students can give interviews in companies visiting the campus for placements. Reliance, Yes Bank, Infosys, Jindal Steel are frequent recruiters. Highest off campus placements for mechanical this year is 40 LPA at unknown company. Highest on campus placement last year was 14 LPA for mechanical engg. Almost 100% placements for students who opt for it. My plans are to opt for higher studies if i dont get a high package of 15 LPA or above.
Fees and Financial Aid
It costs 300 to apply for this course on college Website under all india category. The fees per year for this 4 year course is 2,50,000. This includes all the fees required to study in the college. There is no breakdown of this amount provided to me. But I havent haf to pay any other amount to study. So yes, 2.5L is the yearly fees for this course. Also, this whole fees will be voided if you are under AIR 70000 in JEE Mains for Mechanical Engineering Course. There is no information with me regarding fees for reserved categories, but I believe its the same if you directly take admission from college's website.
Campus Life
There are 37 clubs in the college. Each for different topic! Examples are Brahmand (astronomy), Sorriso (photography), respawn (gaming) and many many more... there is a huge sports complex with running track, 2 football grounds, cricket ground, 4 basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, and 4 tennis arenas.
Hostel Facilities
1.5 lakh per year for hostels. 2 sharing with common bathroom for 1st and 2nd year students and 3 sharing with attached for other students. We are provided with hot water, variety of meals, 8/10 food quality, table for studying, comfortable single beds, cabinets, pinboards and daily cleaning. Also there is common fridge, microwave, gas stove etc. for 3 sharing rooms with elevators.
Admission
Other colleges i applied to were Nirma University, Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalay and LD College of Engineering. I chose this one over others due to better infrastructue and positive reviews from my colleagues of older age studying here. Nirma has similar infrastrucure but I believe it is too strict abd orthodox for my liking. This FEELS like college.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is average. You can find about 40 students for each faculty. But a personal manor is provided to each student throughout their course of 4 years, this mentor. Will help you in any personal or educational issues throughout your college life. One mentor handles about 20 students from each year and this mentor is a faculty from your branch only. I havent had anu problems with faculties so far. My favorites are Anirudh Kulkarni, Ranjan Pati, PS Pradeep and Davinder Singh. I disliked our english communication teacher, Viraj. I dont know her surname. The course curriculum is relevant to your branch and also a good exposure of other fields is provided to students both theoretically and practically. There are 2 exams, mid semester (50 marks, 2 hrs) and end semester (3 hrs, 100 marks). There is also a 25 mark IA (internal assessment) conducted through out the semester than consists of things like attendenxe, notebook completion, behavior and short quizzes and tests. In total, the seemster is graded out of 100, out of which 50 are for end sem, 25 for mid sem and 25 for IA. Out of my 75 people class, only 2 or 3 have failed.
Night Life
We hang out in the gazebos at night just chit chatting or playing video games together. Gym is also nice without moden unrusted equipment. Hostels will not allow entry after 10.30 PM and exit before 6 AM. There is also a metro station seperately for the college, the station name is literally PDEU. Libray timings are 9 AM to 8 PM, on weekdays and 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends. Also Saturday sunday is a holiday. There are many shops like havmor, amul, cafe coffee day, nescafe inside the campus.
