Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course books and curriculum is actually interesting and you wouldn't wonder why are you studying the specific subjects. Subjects are intriguing and will have you curious and sticked to the book, with actually good language that you will learn from. With assignments submission, you will actually be able to revise your complete course and get important questions.

Fees and Financial Aid

1st Year fees: Rs 4,500/- 2nd Year fees: Rs 4,500/- 3rd Year fees: Rs 5,000/- This fees structure is for general category students without any quota. However, EWS students do get some relief on fees. Kindly note that examination fees is not included in above mentioned fees structure. Every student has to submit examination form along with examination fees (200 per subject, excluding practical subjects if any). My examination fees was around 1600-1800 Rs approx.

Campus Life

4

There is no social life with this distance education University. You will not know any co-student studying with you. However, you can make friends at your examination centres to be in touch regarding your doubts. However, I like this as I'm not involved in College or Teacher's politics.

Admission

I applied to IGNOU as I was late for admissions in offline colleges. However, I don't regret my decision and is rather thankful about. My city's university, RTMNU is a black listed university and is really messy with assignments dates announcements, curriculum, books, exam dates shift, exam paper checking criteria and etc. Whereas, IGNOU releases tentative dates for exams, but dates never changes 2 weeks before the exams. IGNOU announcements are timely, books arrive at time, and there are organised procedures for assignments submission. There's no enterance exam needed for IGNOU admission.

Faculty

Exams are held twice in a year: June Term-End-Examination and Dec TEE. You can either divide your subjects semester wise to give exams twice, or are free to opt yearly exams with appearing for 8-9 subjects all together. Exams are not as difficult, as I studied just a night before exams and still passed in all my subjects. However, you can ask your study doubts in yor weekend classes in your RC or online.

Night Life

5

There is no specific college, and Regional Centres of the cities does not require students to attend classes every day. Just on weekend. My Regional Centre does not have any amenities and is a small yet clean campus with accessible roads and connected to city and not in suburbs. I feel distance learning universities are best for socially anxious, introverts, or anyone who does not prefer to engage with humans as there is zero interaction with anyone in my two years of college life. However, there are many Telegram and Reddit communities to help you connect with other students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I had studied commerce in my 12th so I want to pursue my career in that field that's why I chose this course The curriculum prepares us by giving us real life case studies, presentation in class which helps a lot to prepare for real world applications I don't think their is any area for improvement because year by year they are increasing difficulty level which is good and beneficiary for us in future Exams held generally in December - January and June - July , they give us good preparation holidays before exam as well

The college provides placements in various types of big companies. The company persons visit the college to the students who are going to get graduated in the year and take their interview. For impressing them you should score high cgpa out of 10 let's say 8-10 will be better rather than that you should also have a lot of skills, knowledge, experience, expertise,a brilliant resume,CV which you have gained in your past college years. Then you will get the placement through the college. The pay for placement will be very good like from 8L/p.a. to 10L/p.a.

Placement Experience:

there is a scope of placement in Hansraj college. I am currently working in the placement cell of hansraj college and the average LPA of our college is 7-8 LPA which is decent most of the placements are for economics and commerce students the highest package from our college was 23 LPA so although there is a possibilty of placement and if not then the alumni network of hansraj helps and all the connections you made in the college helps to get a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the BA English honours curriculum at DU SOL as quite comprehensive and relevant specially for students interested in literature and language. The course covers a wide range of literary period genres and critical theories which helps build a strong foundation in English studies, however at times the material can feel a bit outdated or digit and more contemporary text or modern pedagogical approaches could be included. Overall it's a solid curriculum that prepares you will for further studies or a career in writing teaching or media.
