Remarks
The teachers will not spoon-feed you, you will be very independent when it comes to doing work (I understand that this is not really helpful all the time and so I will include this point in the cons as well). Some of the teachers are really well experienced and can be a vast source of knowledge (especially true in the ECE branch, and if you join, you should really go meet Layla ma’am). The college experience is much less strict than other colleges in the state and give you quite a bit of freedom, no dress code and all that. You will get to have a lot of fun with all the activities and fests going on, if you are into all of that. Even if you are not, it’s a beautiful campus to just for a nice walk in the evenings by yourself. And the area surrounding the campus is really quiet and tranquil with paddy fields and rivers and forests, you will definitely love it.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum for mechanical engineering is very well designed ,which for the first two years mainly focusses on basics of the subjects like strength of materials, material science and metallurgy, kinematics of machinery, thermodynamics..etc. Here mechanical engineering students interested in industrial management courses can take them as their electives.Few industrial management subjects are included in the normal courses too.
Placement Experience
Placements are very good as compared to other nit's.there are companies like bajaj, maruti, toyota, zindal steel, tata motors, reliance, lnt, atkins and some multinational companies come here for recruiting the students. They provide a minimum of 5.2 lakhs per annum. and I think it is a very good price for a structural engineer.
College Events
There are mainly two main events in this college and some small events are conducted sometimes.those two events are namely tathva(tech fest) and ragam(cultural fest). in tech fest, a number of companies bring their product for advertisement and the students show their innovation
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is more for general students. and less for sc and st students. for a general student, it is 55000 per semester and for sc and st students it is around 10000.mess fees is 3000 per month which is very less as compared to other nits. one would glad to join this college The fee structure is very feasible as it is a government college. Fee structure keeps changing from time to time as per the guidelines and recommendations from MHRD, Government of India. Tuition fee details keep on changing and it available on MHRD website. Mess and hostel charges go around 4K per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sbi gives loan for nitc students. Students with family annual income less than 1 lakh can get full tution fee waiver . students with family annual income between 1 lakh to 5. Lakh can get 2/3rd fee waiver.
Campus Life
Badminton Football Basket ball Swimming Cricket Many clubs For every branch there are approx.5 to 6 labs Gym Cad cam centre Gym not upto mark. Music club Badminton court in almost every hostel Table tennis ,carroms in almost every common room of the hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Most of the help will be given by senior students only, seniors are too helpful. Got a problem related to academics, sports, finance or personal problems, you can always look for them and you will be helped. the alumni network is decent, our creative zone has been gifted by 1989-93 batch only. Also, there are many scientists, IES, IAS and entrepreneurs who have got their B.Tech. degree from NITC.
Faculty
Most of the senior faculty in college are good, but few dont teach with enthusiasm.Few adhoc faculty are also good at the subject .most of them are friendly and interactive.majority of the faculty helps us in tough situations.
