Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is industry oriented as well as structured for the overall development of the student. It consists of course subjects along with subjects like Yoga, Foundation of Peace, Spiritual and Cultural Heritage, Indian Knowledge System, Indian Constitution, etc all as compulsory subjects. All the subjects taught were taught practically too and truly had industry relevance. The other subjects focused on mental and intellectual wellbeing. In the course curriculum itself, we have a unique feature of 'University Elective' where are are supposed to select any course of our choice offered by different schools and departments of our university, it has credits. There's no as such improvement in teaching methods or course curriculum. I already mentioned in detailed in previous answer regarding the frequency of exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

As I am a SY student, I haven't recieved any external internship opportunities. But the college provide a scheme called 'Learn and Earn' where openings from different departments of college are filled to help students get experience in administrative as well as field roles. We were informed that our students recieved Internship opportunities even in banglore with a stipend of 60,000/-. At the end of 4th year, there's a complete semister dedicated to internship. As per National Education Policy 2020, even us Bsc students can opt for 4 years degree with a degree in honors.

Placement Experience

5

Premium companies visit MIT for placements annaully. There's a rigorous selection procedure for getting shortlisted. No shortage of opportunities, just the student should be academically stable and prepared. Many companies like TCS, IBM, Persistent, Josh Softwares, etc, companies visit frequently. One of my senior, Harshal Juikar got placed at Google through campus from Google Developer Students club with a annaul package of 43 LPA. This is also the highest package ever offered. Around 50-60% of students get placed and others prefer going for master's degree. My plan after getting a degree is to persue PG Diploma at C-DAC, Pune.

Fees and Financial Aid

To be honest, MIT WPU was not my first choice as far as bachelor's was concerned. But today it feels absolutely worth it. The registration fee for my course was 1500/- which included MIT-CET, it had basic aptitude and numerical aptitude questions along with basic computer knowledge questions. After the CET, I recieved the call for an online interview. They asked questions like reason for choosing MIT, reason for choosing this specific course, further goals, etc. Upon completion of the interview, after a span of just few days, I was informed about my selection. Regarding fees, the annual fees for Bsc Computer Science is 1,55,000/-, it can be paid in two installments, 95,000/- and 60,000/- as first and second installment respectively. The total breakdown of the fees is 1,35,000/- as Program Fees/Tution Fees, 15,000/- as Developmet Fees and 5000/- as Exam Fees. Every year a notice is released as one of my friend from EWS category having valid EWS certificate is leveraged from paying 50% of the total annual fees. There are some merit based scholarships available for both persuing students as well as new joinis based on their score in MIT CET, but as of my information currently they're inactive. Colleges truly provides best of it's kind infrastructure with individual department buildings, Elevators, Computer Labs, Electronics Lab, etc. The environment is innovative as the campus promotes new innovations through various events like R.I.D.E, Great India Startup Challenge and initiatives like Technology Business Incubator. Faculty I would say is 7/10 as either over experienced or lower experienced as of Bachelor's level. But they are supportive and understanding. Awareness regarding placements in the final year is embaded in the student's mind from very First Year itself so as to take the academics with utmost seriousness. The curriculum is practical and well designed, relevant to the industry. I Recommend this University to those aspiring to join !

Campus Life

5

I would rate the overall campus experience with 11/10. It provides diverse opportunities in every field, from creative to leadership, from your art to entrepreneurship, your every aspect is nurtured here. Starting from Bhartiya Chhatra sansad, Aarohan (Largest cultural fest in Pune) in January to many more sequence of events like Shubharambh, SLDP, RIDE, throughout the course of year. Also verious club events are held round the year. We have Google Developer Student's Club, NCC Troop, NisargaVedh Nature Club, Phoenix Drone Club, Bharat Club, Iris Innovation club, Entrepreneurship Cell, and many more. These clubs are open to all the students as per their interests and likings. We have a 2 floor library with books from every academic segment as well as social and intellectual along with 2 floors for study spaces and a couple of digital labs. Classrooms are all equiped with digital boards, well ventilated and comfortable benches. I study in Gardi building, we have a lawn for yoga. We have annual sports events with subject to student's participation and also our teams represent our university on National Level. Every student is ambitious, energatic and intellectual.

Admission

I went for an enquiry at MIT WPU and the overall experience was really professional. The counsellors detailed me about the entire course, it's relevance, code of conduct, other campus activities and every other details. I decided to join this prestigious institution. I had less marks in my HSC class 12th therefore I had limited options, MIT being a private institution didn't had category based admissions, so it was convenient to secure admission there. MIT follows it's own designed curriculum and that's why it shands out from other colleges who follow the traditional and outdated syllabus from SPPU, also it has various activities for student's life transformation as I mentioned in previous answers also. We have to appear for MIT CET which is an online test, on successful completion, we move towards an online interview round. We recieve an Email for final selection and every other admission process is to be done on online portal itself.

Faculty

4

Faculties are highly knowledgeble and sometimes even overqualified / overexperienced. All the faculty members are helpful and understanding. Every teacher is approachable and open for any query at anytime even after college hours. I like my web technology faculty Prof. Navnath Shete Sir as he is really professional and dedicated towards his work, excellent in his subject and knows how how manage student engagement. Also his teaching methedology is different than other faculties as per my understanding. We have 2 semesters annualy, course commencemnt from the month of August. 4 exams are conducted every year. 2 mid term examinations and 2 End term examinations along with respective lab exams. They are generally conducted in the months of September(Mid Term), December(End Term), March(MidTerm) and May(End Term). The total marking scheme consists of CCA 1(Class Test) + CCA 2(Theory Assignment) + Mid Term + LCA 1(Quiz) + LCA 2(Viva) + LCA 3(Practical) + End Term. This pattern is generally same for all the subjects. We follow a 60-40 pattern where 60% is for all these internal examinations and 40% for the end term exam alone. They are generally easy considering the student is well focused atleast during the exam times. Not many students fail because of getting less marks but at the end term exam, many get detained due to less attendance percentage and not fulfilling the minimun attendance criteria. The course curriculum is truly relevant to the industry and is very specific without the overburden of unuseful subjects. All the faculties follow a placement oriented approach where focus is given on the overall understanding and we are always informed regarding any perticular topic or assignment which would benefit in placements.

Night Life

4

College campus doesn't have as such nightlife to be honest, but the locality is safe and has a significant nightlife experience. The 'Nal Stop' which is a kilometer away have a crowd of foodies everynight. The Rambaug Colony where the MIT is located is the house to mostly 'Hindu Orthodox' families. Rooms and PGs are available on large scale. Campus timings close at around 8 PM. There's Metrocity gym and sports complex along with swimming pool at just 100 meters from the college gate. There are continous buses running from college to university hostel as it is a bit far. Inside the campus, Enclave is the favourate hangout place of students along with the in campus turf and basketball court. Off the campus Durga cafe, LassiWassi and Burger King are some places to hangout.

Strong academic legacy with expereinced faculties and balanced content- preparing you for future studies and entrance exams and olympiads. very much strict, i would say not needed. somehwere you may experience baised behaviour; but when you are focused on gaining knowledge then these things dont matter as its only a matter of three years. Relevance of course is there but for applying for further studies not for that much for job prospects, if you want atleast a decent salary job.
