Remarks

As a student of assam i never thought of taking admission in out side University but one of uncle works here so he suggested me to take admission in this university. I also got confirmation from Lakhimpur commerce college and Royal global university but when i visited UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MEGHALAYA looking to the campus and hostel was also inside the campus so that i decided to take admission here. I have not got any rejection from any university because had applied for these universities only. Admission process is not really very tough as this is a private university but the process is bit lengthy and to get admission in some department (b.tech, m.tech, MBA etc) of this university students have to give entrance exam which is conducted in the university itself.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

47 students are seated in a class room. Total students strength are 50 in a classroom.2:1 is the ratio of girls and boys . Majority students are from assam and meghalaya. Yes peer learning take place in the class. we get 9 marks for attending classes...i don't think so students attend the classes to learn but maximum of students attend classes for 75% attendance fear.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

No, all students donot get placement as the companies comes for placement offers and they select according to the skills and performance. 25% students gets the placement among all students. Its bit tough to get paid internship like 10% gets paid internship and other do internship for acquiring skills. Our course donot allow for internship so if we want to do then we have to do it at the time of vacation.

Placement Experience

1.5

Final placement starts at the time of course end means last semester, after the exam we can go for the jobs if we get selected. No everyone get placement as the companies select according to the skills and performance in IA around 25% gets the placement, college try to get more companies so that students get more opportunities.banks and corporate are the most preferred company as they are related to our course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fee= Rs65000 tuition fee = Rs90000 yearly Mess + hostel fee= 100200 yearly Total fees= rs180000 It is high if we compare it with government colleges but it is average if we compare with private colleges Other expenses=rs1500 to rs2000 Fees is equal for every caste students except bpl card holders and toppers Yes,they provide scholarship, concession and freeship to those students who are belongs to bpl students, toppers or state-level players.

Campus Life

2

Football, basketball, volleyball, cricket and many more games are there to play.. vollyball court, football ground, kabadi, cricket etc and yes equipments are provided by the university itself. Yes there is a gym where boys and girls have different timings for gym and they have all the equipment of gyms. No university donot have any pool for swimming. Our university have the largest auditorium in the entire North East reason and a library were more than 100000 books are there and research Paper are also included. College campus is very vast and from hostel to administrative block it has 3km, most of the students travel by the bus that university provides. They allowed to keep the personal vehicle inside the campus. The won't allow parents or relatives to stay with the students overnight. apart from cafeteria we have some different shop inside the campus so we do visit there. Yes our university recently opened a private hospital inside the campus.Campus life is good, after classes if some students have interest in games they can go to the ground and play and if someone want to go to gym they can go there. For girls they donot allowed them for night out even not in campus but they allow boys so cafeteria is open till 8pm. Maximum of students are hangouts at cafeteria. Its safe inside the campus because lots of guards are there. Fest are like managemia, esplendizes and kiros had been organised by the university students itself...many outsiders students come to university during the event...the vibe is soo good. Recently daisy shah, darshan revel, astha gill came to attend some event at our university. i donot have idea about other states students, but ig one lady from Bangladesh had completed her phd at this university.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel for boys and girls are separate and boys are not allowed to the girls hostel nor even girls. There are 2 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel inside the campus and each hostel have different names. I stay in one of these 3 hostel i.e., Kasturba hostel and i think this is the best hostel because it is inside the campus and need no extra expenses for travel. Hostel allocation take place according to the students and courses. So hostel fee for the attached bathroom and 3 seater one is 8350 per month and economy bathroom is 7350 per month and same for the 2 seater students. Timing for girls hostel is 6am to 5:30 pm sharp after 5:30 no one is allowed to come and go outside. fooding is included in fees that i have mentioned. Every hostel have different mess for them particularly. They provide 2 days chicken,2 days fish,2 day egg and one day paneer for dinner and for lunch daal and alo bhaji and for breakfast they provide puri sabji and fried rice alternatively. Yes there are guards there in hostel..we have 2 wardens and 2 security guard. There are only 2 seater and 3 seaters room. I got 3 seater and attached bathroom. they are providing fans, wifi, bed chair, table and almirah and qualities are ok ok. There is no common room. Some rooms have attached bathroom and some have not so economy bathroom are cleaned after 5 days and attached bathroom are cleaned by the students themselves. Attached bathroom 3 students shares and economy is shared my others who donot have attached bathroom. Some students stays in pg and rented room near University.

Exam Structure

Admission process starts at the time of june july for which we need to fillup the registration form and after getting call from adminstration we have to give the required documents and verification of that documents..we need to fillup the forms for selecting departments and all after that paying the amount will get the admission. According to the course a students selected like for graduation and masters its better to apply for cuet it will be good. A good percentile is better according to me. other ways of admission is there like donation.

Faculty

2

the cirriculum is not difficuly its just that students have to be regular about college classes yes students do fail in exam mainly due to less attendence and less participation in practical casses i have bcom program course and usually we have around 5-6 classes in whole day from 8:30 first classes in day until 2:45 the last classes 1 hour each class and a 15 min break in between teaching methodology is same as we have in school the teacher explains on white board and practical classes are taken in lab .I have commerce course so i have studied mostly from commerce department teacher apart from SEC and VAC courses and the commerce department is good especially vikas sir who taught us HRM in 2 year is very good teacher and focuses in practical learning and students overall developement

Course Curriculum Overview:

The way they prepare the question is the main reason for me to choose this college. They really provide not only bookish knowledge but also how to deal with the real world. The examination that they conduct are very reasonable because they give us the amount of time that a normal students need to be prepared for an examination. So I think it's quite reasonable and nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the different types of interest that I have are present here in this course, and as I have said earlier that I have a keen interest in Law I don't have to think twice to choose this course. The curriculum is not up to the mark for applications in the real world, there are few discrepancies and inorder to match up the level outside we have to put a lot of efforts and leave no opportunities when we get them. Moot Courts should be conducted more often.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although this is a private college still it has recognition for the efficiency of this college. I wasn't interested in medicine and engineering. so I had to do a BSc so this college is one of the best in North East India. From the chemistry department, there are various scopes such as the food industry, oil industry, wax industry, ONGC, OIL, and various jobs. The teaching method is efficient and if there is any chance to improve then I would like to say that faculty should monitor that every student is being facilitated with proper materials.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculums include theory and clinics. Theory is done in the morning and clinics in the noon and practical in the afternoon. This curriculum is quite good to prepare us to become a good doctor, both in studies and in clinical practice. As the world is evolving in terms of technology, I believe there must be a more innovative way of teaching making use of all the technologies available for teaching such as PowerPoint, 3d models (real and virtual), etc. There must also be proper ventilation, cooling system, etc to help the students cope up with the weather of the college. There are 4 exams in a year which to me are too much. Besides the NEET PG exam will be MCQs so what is the point of doing objective questions and answers.

Remarks:

NIT Meghalaya is a decent institute as par as studies are concerned. You will have ample of chance to study and learn new stuffs, being a new institute you get a lot of stuffs and initiatives to be done and handled single handy which gives another chance not only to learn and showcase your skills but also to use it in future for organizing similar stuffs in future.Being a MeghNITe , it was always a cutting edge for me in interviews and people used to literally appreciate the exposure I had even from being a remote located college of India ( though it was not pretty different to what a normal NITian would had in other NIT).If you do same thing in limited resources to what your competitor does with ample of resources, even having same outcome it?Ûªs more likely to get appreciated and this is what happens when you are studying at new NIT.Coming to infrastructure : NIT M has decent labs ( comparable to even many of old IITs ) ,mix of youth ,energetic and quite experienced pool of faculties , prime location and technically sound students as college.I would suggest to go ahead with decision and consider it a fair Chance to study at NITM (Provided you do not have any better option).
