Remarks

The college is good. But as it is in the temporary campus there are lots of hardships. But the faculties are good and they help as much as they can. But labs are small so not an ideal place to come for research works.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course is good and almost same as other NIT's and IIT's. The syllabus is helpful for GATE and NET exams. The course exam pattern is one mid term one end term and two class test per semester in most of the theory papers

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell is good of this institute. Despite having a permanent campus the ranking of this NIT is going up as the placement are good after course completion. At the same time they encourage to take internship during summer and winter vacation. The project student usually gets 20000 per month if not NET/GATE qualified

College Events

4

There are two main events that our college celebrates. The cognitia and the shishir. Congitia is the tech fest of the institute. There are various events that are hosted in this fest like robotics gaming etc. Shishir is the music fest. Of course being an NIT it organized various events like science day, rastravasha divas, dikshyant samaroh, women's day etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee are around 1 lac per semester for btech and 40000 per semester for Masters in basic science. It includes hostel dues transportation exam fee everything. The fee are actually high but it is the same in most of the NIT's as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

For economically poor and educationally sound student there are relaxation in fees. Also caste based relaxation are at place as well. ST/SC Student don't have to pay the instute tution fees And also top 5 student of each batch get a scholarship as well.

Campus Life

3

Institute encourage extracurricular activities. There are various competitions held in the institute. Starting from sports to literature to cultural there are various activities organized in the institute. It also actively participate in inter NIT competitions as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel mess dues is 16000. Seat rent is 5000. The overall fee for hostel per semester is around 23000. But at the end of the semester students get refund for their mess advance of around 3000-4000. The facility are good in hostel. Transportation is done by institute. And there are facilities for hot water, sports, gym etc.

Alumni/Alumna

I have not experienced it much till now. There is an allumni association. But have not attended any of their meetings till now. But the seniors are quite helpful. Also the instute is ragging free. The environment of the institute is worth living.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty are of good quality.. but at the same time as this NIT is in a temporary campus so number of faculty is too less. Specially in basic science programs such as M.Sc in physics chemistry and mathematics the number of faculty per dept is around 5-6 which is too less

Course Curriculum Overview:

MSc in biotechnology and bioinformatics is quite a difficult subject and the syllabus is very huge to complete in few months . Also this subject includes a lot of practical work which are so time consuming. Practicals are more interesting than theory paper. The curriculum prepares us moderately for real world applications. The syllabus should be divided properly among the semesters so that no burden is on a student. The teachers should teach the subject with more practical than theory based. Some semesters donot almost lasts for 6 months . They are less than 6 months and then exam approaches which is very difficult for students to cope up with.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First, I was interested in my course i,e Counselling psychology since my class X. I took up psychology in my XI and XII but as my State Manipur does not offer Psychology that time, I couldn't continue in my bachelor. So, I ended up taking English. Even during those, whenever psychology things pop up in a paper or media, it drews my full attention to it. That interest makes me got letter marks in my class XII as well. The first reason I took up this course was, because I want to help people. Seeing lots of generational trauma that affects the up coming children, mental well being of people makes me want to change the world. I got a whole lot of sympathy and burden in my heart. Secondly, I want to know myself more. Taking this course makes more aware of myself, how to stand up for myself, understand people more. I did not regret taking this course. I'm fully content about my decision.
