Remarks

I did applied to other colleges too before getting admitted in the one I am now but destiny got me here and I am not regretful at all. So I applied to colleges based in Guwahati like Guwahati Commerce College, Dispur College, and more. I got selected in Dispur College on merit list but because of the high fees of Paying Guest and Hostels i skipped it. Then days later I applied in Donbosco College in online mode and my name came in the merit list of students. I was always a Bosco Student and I knew Donbosco would be the best for me. To get admission in my college the process is to first fill the online form of new admission from the college website and then if you get selected your name will be published in the merit list of students which you need to check often. After that, the online form along with the other necessary documents needs to be photocopied and submit to the college for admission. To any who is thinking of getting admitted to this college or is skeptical about it, I would highly recommend to choose this college as it will get you the best possible educational college experience which u need to have in life.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

On an average 30 students sit in one classroom. We are 10 people in my specialization which is 'Finance'. The students are diversed on district basis from the state of Arunachal Pradesh. There are boys more than girls opting for the stream of Commerce in my college. There are marks for attending good number of classes and for participating in the class activities. In my opinion, it depends on person to person whether they attend the classes for learning or for fun. But in my college, I have seen students disciplined and eager to learn and experience new things.

Internships Opportunities

2

Commerce department from our college were placed 100% internship placements. The stipend was based on the performance so it was variable for each. The highest stipend offered was 15k and the lowest was 3k. The most preferred line of internship of my course are Business Executive, Sales, Marketing, Management and more. As there are a number of companies with work like this, I would not like to suggest any one name of such.

Placement Experience

2

The final placements start before the semester exam of the final year probably in the 6th Semester. The placements again depend on the capability of an individual, knowledge and skills. The average CTC offered was 4 lakh pet annum, highest was of Rs 7 lakh and the lowest was of Rs 2.5 lakh pet annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Regarding fees, during admission for the first year the admission fee along with the first installment needs to be paid which is around Rs 30,000. There are other two installments of Rs 5000 each which needs to be paid in the month of October and November. I think the fee structure is pretty decent as compared to other private colleges in India. Aparat from this, if anyone is coming from a distant area then the college bus service can be availed which is Rs 7000-8000 per Semester. The college help in getting the scholarships of state which is for the Scheduled Caste people. The college also offers other scholarship program of its own like 90% and 100% attendance scholarship, beti bachao beti padhai award, and more.

Campus Life

2

The campus has a basketball and a volleyball court in addition to a lot of sport equipments. The college also has a personal gym which is named as 'Bosco Gym' which can be availed by the intersted ones. The college campus is not too big nor too small. The college is situated in Jollang which is distant from the capital region i.e. Itanagar. Mostly people coming from far areas travel by college bus and hostellers come by walking as the hostels are situated at a walking distance from the college. It is not allowed to keep the students personal bikes and cars inside the campus bht outside there is a place assigned for the same . Relatives are not permitted to come for a nightstay in the college campus. Apart from the central canteen, there is a canteen outside the campus nearby the college. The college doesn't have a medical centre but it runs a medical and health club where the participants are trained regarding basic medical care and first aid.The overall campus life is good. Most students after classes go to their home or hostels. The nightlife of the college is just like home with strict rules and regulations. Nobody is supposed to roam or go outside the campus at night. The locality is somewhat safe but to be on the safer side, the management doesn't allows to go anywhere at night. The major fests and cultural events are the celebration of 'cultural day cum food feast ' , Nyokum celebration and Christmas celebration. There are a number of clubs and committees in the college like health club , literary club, library club, eco club and more. I am the part of music club. NCC and NSS are the most important for students in terms of value addition as it

Hostel Facilities

2

Girls and boys are separate and the boys are not allowed to enter in girls hostel and vice-versa. There are ample number of hostels and paying guest near the college but the best I would suggest in the Bosco Hostel of Boys and Auxilium Hostel for Girls which are run by the instituition itself. The hostel allocation takes place on first cum first served basis. The hostel fee for the year is around 65000. The hostel timings are strict and one needs to get permission from the warden sisters to go out anywhere with proper specific reason. Fooding is included in the hostel fees. No each hostel doesn't have a separate canteen but mostly students and hostellers eat from the general canteen of college. The quality of the food in the hostel is pretty good there is a menu for the week as everyday the menu changes. The hostels are secure and safe. There are single and double room sharing options. I choose single room as I am an introvert and like my own space. The facilities provided in hostel are beds , study tables, a separate general study room, almirah, use of library, use of college campus, use of the items of the college like basketball and more. Yes we do have a common room . There are attached washrooms to each room in the hostel.

Exam Structure

I am very proud to say that our college doesn't accept donations and doesn't take admission based on that. The admission is completely based on merit basis and one have to first fill a online form as the first step of admission. Later if selected, the name will be published in the merit list of students in the college website after which the student need to visit the college physically with the hardcopy of the required documents. The fee is accepted only in cash for the admission process.

Faculty

2.5

Course curriculum is easy and hard kind of. It depends, if you study 1-2 hrs daily you top the class in the semester exam. Faculties are very flexible and give attendance of requesting. Sometimes yes, students fail in the exams like last time in C programming, 45% students got failed. Classes start from 9 am to 5pm, but we get break hours. Like if a class is at 9 then next class will be at 11 or 12.

The course curriculum was good. But it should be better by including more practical and site visits for better learning. The exams were not that much difficult you can pass easily. Exam frequency was also good

Admission:

The college takes in students on the basis of the scores in CAT or GMAT. I got admission in to the college through my CAT score. I secured 88 percentile and then went ahead for the interview round after getting selected. Then I could qualify in the interview round too and got admitted into the college.
