Sacred Heart College - [SHC], B.Sc, Computer Science

Remarks

Has a good environment and facilities to study. Sacred heart college has a good lake view ground to spent free hours with classmates. Its a plastic free zone and has enough and more trees to provide us good shades everytime.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is good. Giving importance to extra curricular activities also. The exam structure is semester wise. 2 semesters in one year. There is also service learning program along with the studies which is very important and compulsory for all the heartians.

Placement Experience

4

There are lots of companies coming for placement for bsc students. Comparing with bsc, bcom has less companies coming for placements but companies coming are the best. Companies like deloit, Sutherland, wipro, mckinsey etc are usually comes for placements every year. College let the students to go for internships during the end of fourth semester that too only for a month during the summer vacations. Internships were soo good so that the students coukd get an idea about how they are gonna be after the degree.

College Events

5

Heartifest - an event organised every year which even includes the alumni and past pupils. A festival of reunion. Department fest every year conducted various departments of the college one among most popular fest is the tandav conducted by the bcom department Arts day Ethnic day

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is feasible. There are courses with fees about 1lakh per year. But there is a good consideration by the management to help the students with good iq and less financial background to give them necessary support to learn.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are lots of loan facilities provided by the college. There are special considerations for the sc st students on their fees and also they used to get grants time to time. For other students also there are enough and more scholarships are available

Campus Life

4

One of the top colleges in sports. Well maintained championship teams for cricket, football, basketball, handball, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, baseball, fencing, rollboll, and even more. Special gym for physical education where players can train

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is provided only for boys that too a pathetic one. Hostel fees comes around 3000-5000 per month excluding the food. No sharing available. Curfue is about 11pm. No restrictions of phone and all. And for girls there are lots of hostels available around the premises of college with much good facilities and some with restrictions.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni and senior students network is pretty good. The facility has always playing a key role in keeping a good relationship with the passed out students. If the students has to get any suggestions about their project and all about the learning stuffs faculity guides them to the passed out students so it allows the students to have network between everyone.

Faculty

4.5

Facility of the college is very friendly. Has good knowledge about the topics. Very helpful for project works and research as well. Faculty let the students to use facilities of the college very much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
