Remarks

College lacks infrastructure and ample space for the ease of college excitement but the college offers a great field of laboratories and on-site experience in the field the faculty and lectures sometimes involve too much into their personal life than minding their own business.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course offers a double core curriculum which has two core papers and three complementary papers. The first year consists of a complimentary compulsory English paper. The overall course has 6 semesters and each semester offers varying papers including biochemistry, zoology, botany, biotechnology, English. Exams are conducted by MG University at the end of each semester and the college also conducts two internal exams in one semester.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placements for the BSc degree courses for Biotechnology and Botany are not offered by the college but the students are given suggestions for internships and also informed at times. Internships at the institution are only offered after the successful completion of the pg course at the campus.

College Events

1.5

College celebrations are not that often at the biotech institute but the main campus of SCMS celebrates in grand ways. The institute even then celebrates fresher's day, farewells, Onam celebrations, and Christmas celebrations, and also small seminars are offered by the college at times. There is an industrial visit in the 2nd and 5th semesters.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Management seats offer quite expensive seats that have a fee structure of 50,000 rupees per semester and other expenses of books and college trips but the seat obtained with the help of MG University offers a fee structure of 25,000 rupees per semester and other expenses.

Fees and Financial Aid

College does not offer any scholarships but a loan facility is available if you contact the nearest or your bank for student loans scholarships can be availed if you do thorough research in the locality since the college doesn't offer one.

Campus Life

3

The college offers amble time in laboratories since all subjects require enough experience in labs so all subjects have their corresponding laboratories and field studies. Sports and other extracurricular activities are hosted by the SCMS management institute.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The boy's hostel is having great facilities and is located near the institute has great food and fee structure that are affordable but the girl's hostel is located 3 kilometers from the institute and has an affordable fee structure but girls opt for the hostels nearby for easy commute.

Alumni/Alumna

Since the college doesn't have too many batches of seniors so the college alumni are not functioning properly and the seniors are cole enough to be contacted frequently and they are very helpful in understanding the opportunities and internship programs.

Admission

I applied for the college by filling the admission form that was obtained from the college. later after submitting the application I had an interview at the campus. Initially, they verified my documents and later allowed me to pay the fees in order to join the college.

Faculty

2.5

The college has great and experienced faculty even though the institute is a research facility the faculty also are great at their field of research. Due to the small campus structure and small class strength, there is more care and compassion towards you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
