Likes
- Faculties: They are really helpful and very friendly in nature. Always there for each and every student to encourage them
- Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really awesome. Better than most of the other private colleges.
- Campus life: Many cultural and social events are organised throughout the year. Also a grand fest is organised by the college authority in every year.
Dislikes
- Despite of having a great infrastructure I feel like their fees is little high
- Sometimes many of us faced different issues in some of the official works because of their delay
- Good opportunities for mass com and CSE department but they also should provide internship to biological science departments also.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was really impressed by our laboratories. Total 5 laboratories are there with enhanced equipments. In this course they included seminar in every semester to enhance our presentation skill and knowledge. Also poster making competitions, quiz competitions are frequently held here. Course also include foreign language course of 2 years. Student can extend the timing by 1 more year if they want.
Placement Experience
In our field specially MSc students are eligible for better placements than BSc students. But sometimes for BSc students internships are available and also placements are available after completing their course. A bsc student with good grade can have a placement with avg salary package of 1,80,000 to 2,25,000 per annum. Personally I was not looking for a job after bsc . That's why pursuing MSc degree and after that I'll go for a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
At the time of admission 76460 rupees is needed that includes 1st semester fees of rupees 40460 with admission fees , skill fees etc . Bsc Biotechnology is a 4 year course so students have to pay 40460 rupees per semester for remaining 7 semesters. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship can be applied for those who studied in West Bengal Board in secondary education. Also students can apply for different bank's student loan and also Student Credit card.
Campus Life
Annual grand fest are organised by college authority every year between January to February. SNU have its own musical band, singing , dancing and fashion team that also represent our college to different cultural competition. College also have a football team of its own. A basketball court is there in our campus. Our college library is like a treasure for bookworms. Different types of text books, journals, magazine are there in our library.
Admission
I applied to many of the government colleges in West Bengal right then. But after visiting all those colleges I chose this college because of its infrastructure and there is no political party to influence students' daily life. SNU has ragging free campus which is most important for a student. A newcomer student can feel very protective and safe here. Juniors and seniors have great bond.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is fare enough. Faculties are helpful and friendly. Always try to enhance the overall character and quality of a student. Bsc Biotechnology course is 4 years course including two semesters per year. Every semester includes one midsem exam one practical exam and one final theory examination. Level of examination is moderate. A student who attends class regularly and frequently can have good marks. Results are in cgpa/sgpa system
Night Life
College closes around 7 pm. But at the evening it looks so beautiful. Some students randomly do jamming sessions in the amphitheatre. Melbourne Cafe is there in the campus. Also few cafes and restaurants are also there outside of the campus but at the walking distance.
