College is very vast with lots of facilities and provides us with tons of opportunities for transforming us to an engineers
Provides well equiped labs and workshops with all facilities
Faculties are well qualified ,supportive and friendly.

Dislikes

For some paper works we need to walk some due to vast size of college
Classrooms are not so modern like smart board etc

Course Curriculum Overview

For mechanical engineering gec thrissur is considerd as best in kerala. With awesome faculties facilities workshops etc. The curriculum is not bad but their are some areas for improvements. But the course make as industrial ready

Class Size: 3800Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Internships Opportunities

They give time for internships and we need to collecte activity point minimum 100 to get pass b tech in order to get get we need to attend some workshop, events, etc. And we need to make project too to get passed

Placement Experience

Students becomes eligible for campus placements from 3 or 4 th year. For mechanical engineering companies are MRF, L&T are some companies offer core jobs but they get placex in IT sector too. Minimum package is of 5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

For 1st year its between 8-9000 including all fees and additional fees which is given for university and not for the college for sc,st,oec etc e grantz is also provided and other scholarships are also provided.

Campus Life

The college life is descent and there are tech fest called dyuthi in every 2 year for all students and for outsiders. And an auto expo called Thrissur Motor Show which is organized by mechanical engineering department. And there are many clubs which pffers technical and cultural opportunities like bansuri music club, IEEE, SAE etc

Admission

I have applied to Mar Athanecious college of Engineering but i get confirmed admission in gec Thrissur. It is best college for mechanical engineering in Kerala. Yes i get rejected fron first college due low kean score.

Faculty

Faculties are well qualified, supportive and friendly. I think mechanical department has best faculties. In one semester apart from sem exam there are 2 series test which is conducted by college andbit moderate level question paper

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

There are many Ai seminars arranged in our college to help with job opportunities and ideas.Ftom what I heard there are quite a good amount of placements offered in the college.My plan in the future is to go for mtech course in quantity surveying.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The length of course curriculum is very short. It is very difficult for both students and teachers to complete the syllabus in limited time period.The exam timing are also very conjusted and students are facing many difficulties because of it .

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is there in the campus.A lot of companies visit to the campus. From this year more private companies are visiting because of the breaking of bond with ISRO due to which students are getting good package.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
