Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course of psychology is very interesting. It gives a holistic view of a lot of the topics. The curriculum, though theoretical in nature for the most part, does change your worldview perspectuve a lot. Some things can be improved, such as making it a little more practical, but its honestly the best psych course I have come across

Internships Opportunities

4

Psychology internships dont really offer stipend n internships. How ever, every student is required to go for an internship atleast once throughout their course which is then followed by a report and a viva of the same. You can work at any field related NGo or company

Placement Experience

4

The placements are pretty good. You can start applying from 5th semester onwards. I did not apply for those, but my friends did and they got decent packages. The placement team is very supportive of the students applying. I how ever plan to get a masters so i did not apply for placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently paying 80,000 per year. Admission/seat booking fees was 10,000 at the beginning. Other fees for my batch was around 80,000 to 1,00,000. Now the fees has increased and its 1,50,000 per year. Scholarships are given on getting more than 75% marks in subjects. Other scholarships are offered by Tata and Birla

Campus Life

5

Annual fests like Bhasha Utsav and Silhouette are the most fun. They have a lot of activities. On Bhasha Utsav, the biggest fest of Christ University, you get to wear the ethnic clothing of your state/region. There is DJ and everything and its very fun to spend with your friends. A lot of sports events like Pedagogic League happen where both pros and amateurs can compete. H the library here spans 5 floors. There are numerous clubs under the various departments and there is an event or the other happening nearly every day

Admission

Christ gets the applications and the results out the earliest. Plus, according to NAAC, it is one of the best colleges to study psychology in. We have gotten an A++ score every time naac has come to visit the campus. I applied to DU and Xavier's and Fergus on college. I got into all three. DU did not axactly have the course I was looking for, and i just found the Christ culture to be better than the other universities

Faculty

4

A lot of the faculty do spend time in getting to know the students. One my faculty actually sat with me for a while and talked to me about my future studies at lengths. They are invested in the students and make sure they come across as such. The exams are moderately difficult, but with the right amount of notes, readings, and other material, its not a challenge to pass. I think atleast 90% of my class passes each time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
